Monday - Water
Yes, I know we've talked about liquid before but there are a lot of us who need to pull some numbers this week. So everybody for the next two days needs to really concentrate on getting their full quota of water down the hatch every day.
chappy, luv that cheesy grin on the one turning circles. lol

Tuesday - Grapefruit
I grew up with the cut it in half and then carefully section each piece version which is better than what my grandmother did which was cut it in half and then section with no regard for membranes. But the best invention is whole sectioned grapefruit in a nice little one serving package kind of like yogurt. Of course this probably means it's no longer good for you (and if you are on high blood pressure medicine you aren't supposed to eat grapefruit anyway) but it's still delicious. stardust, hang in there and liquefy everything and if your scale is anything like mine, don't believe it the first time. chappy, lol I saw that gif just after I got out of the shower.

Wednesday - Step on the Scale and Check In
Oh no, another dreaded check-in day. I'm optimistic as I had some good weights earlier in the week. We'll see in the morning.
Good luck everyone!

ladyoz, I checked out that fan art you referenced last week. That fan had quite an imagination about Adam's fitness potential!!! Actually, all kidding aside ... I prefer the natural look on a man over a body builder, ripped look like, say, Adam Levine.
Anyway, I'm glad that I'm working on making lifestyle changes and not on weighing myself because I'm sure I haven't lost weight. I got in my 5x of exercise last week. Yay! I also volunteered at our local "It's My Park" day and spent two hours raking up leaves and sticks at Austin's historic cemetery. It was fun and you know ... if you did that regularly you would soon be in great shape. It was harder than any work out and more satisfying too.
I have worked fresh food into most meals this week. Lots of salads, and dressing with fresh dill. I made the chard casserole again -- yum. Last night I tried a new recipe. I dressed mustard greens with a little vinegar, sugar, and other spices and cooked them down with onion, garlic, and chicken sausage, then added a can of cannelini beans. I really liked it! My sister had it as well and thought the greens were still too bitter.
Borscht tonight. I have both kale and collard greens on hand and need to dream up something cool to do with them. I am going to try to make pickled radishes and will let you know how it goes.

You're doing so well eating healthy Juniemoon! I missed last week, as I wasn't home yet from my family trip. As I knew I had put some weight back on, I decided not to weigh myself so as to not discourage myself, but waited for this week's check-in, and got myself back on track. So after going up I'm now back down plus 1 lb I think. Haven't got myself a better scale yet so it's a little hard to tell. It's going slowly, but that's also because I haven't really changed my diet but am eating less, and especially snacking less, and trying to eat a larger percentage of veggies when we have those, and more fruit. Still allowing myself a little bit of chocolate or something else each day, making it easier to stick to the plan. If I completely cut myself off, I know I won't last and I'm really determined that this year I'm finally going to lose that weight! Sending everyone positive vibes to stick with it! I'm glad I can check it here every week. Jablea, thanks for all the exercise tips, and Chapf thanks for the cheerleading! Hope your eyes are getting better.

Hi guys!!! I also agree that a lifestyle change is better for us that a "diet". I'm trying to eat better and exercise. Sometimes I do better than others, however. Did better this week. Am down a pound today! Yay for tuna!! Ha! So hard to get excited about cooking for one, so sometimes I make poor choices when I'm being lazy. Junie, you are making me want to find a Farmer's Market.

Checking in... Wish I had something remarkable to share. Skated this morning, took the dog I am puppy sitting for two walks/jogs, eating moderately, and still my weight is the same. As I said a few weeks ago...I guess I will have to sweat more to get my metabolism boosting. I have also been trying some active exercise for 20-30 seconds followed by push-ups, weights, then back to a cardio (skipping, jumping jacks etc.) I guess I have to do it more "religiously". Hmmm the casual snacks may have to go ....that will be the biggest challenge. :-[
Well group....it seems we are all dealing with real life...company, weekends away, company, bad knees or other ailments. (haha) At least with the dreaded check-in it is still keeping me motivated....so thanks for all the food tips and the exercise tips.
Good luck this week ...see you next week.
