Thanks for the beet ideas, everyone!! I get a new box tomorrow. If I get beets I'm going to try out the pickled/horseradish topping. I made roasted beets on Sunday. They were pretty good but it's so hot here now that I like the idea of cold pickles more.
I have eaten almost everything from the most current box. I made baked zucchini "fries" that were a big hit, and on Sunday I made some pork chops in the crockpot with cabbages and carrots that were really good. Yesterday we had fish tacos with cabbage, carrots, and green onions, with a side dish of celery with good old peanut butter. You're right, jablea -- you really have to be creative or you don't get your money's worth. All I have left is a little bit of kale that the bunny will finish up tonight, a zucchini and a couple of carrots that I will make into a salad for tomorrow, and part of the cabbage head.
I did well on exercise in the last week. I either walked, went swimming, or went to aerobics every single day. yay for me!
No nerve pain either. A good week. Hope everyone has good news.

You had a great week Juniemoon! I admire your creativity in eating all the vegetables, and doing the exercise.
Only had 1 walk this week, work didn't allow me to do any more. Was going to go this morning but it's raining so will try tomorrow morning. I'm best at going when I first get up.
Had the MRI on my ankle yesterday and find out tomorrow what, if anything, showed up. The MRI went ok, hard to lay still for 20 minutes, but I started to feel a bit dizzy on the way home. After I'd had some lunch a bit later I started really feeling unwell and ended up throwing up several times and having the world spin around me. Whether this was related to the MRI I don't know, but it sure came out of nowhere. I didn't have anything at lunch that I don't normally have. It probably added another lb. to my weight loss as I was down 2.8 lbs this morning. I don't recommend it as a weight loss plan!!
Good luck this week everyone!

Down .8 from last Wednesday so back to moving in the right direction. My workout partner Wendy is really good at pushing us with our walks. Monday she wasn't working and my first appointment was later so after we finished our usual 6 miles she suggested we walk some more. She brought one of her dogs with her and somehow we ended up doing another 4 miles. LOL. We weren't moving to fast toward the end and we were joking about why are we doing this again? But although I thought I would be really sore the next morning a little preventative ibuprophen and an extra 2000 mg of vitamin C really did the trick and surprisingly I was able to move the next morning.
I started a body weight training routine recently and even though I am starting at super basic level only two days a week with a total of 4 different exercises, the first couple of times were pretty hard. The good news is I am feeling progress already. I really didn't think spacing it out that much and doing so little would do much of anything for a while but I am really seeing improvement in how well I am able to do each exercise. Rather than make me want to hurry through the starting levels it is convincing me that starting super slow IS actually accomplishing something so I am less tempted to push too hard and overdo. This is from the book Convict Conditioning which is available on Amazon Kindle. It is written by someone who spent many years in prison with nothing to do but work on body training and learning from many other long timers who spent years learning what works and what doesn't.

Check this out.................... MRI VertigoMy exact thought too chapf... I get vertigo and when I had a really bad bout my cousin sent me notes from the Mayo clinic ...which said.... be watchful at the dentist and hairdresser's in terms of laying your head back, or just laying totally flat without your being slightly elevated as per a pillow. I had a three week bout immediately after a dentist trip...horrible, ...could not leave the house due vomiting after eating, nausea and whirling. I finally got specialist physio help, after the second week and now know how to treat it myself when I feel the crystals in my ear (s) are out of whack thus causing symptoms. I would suggest a vestibular physiotherapist if it persists. If it is the crystals in your ear, they can tell right away with googles on your eyes that track eye movement etc. They even know which ear/or both. I wish these treatments were available years ago, but at least they are now becoming more common place and doctor's now know of them and refer. Best Wishes fierclier...it is not a fun experience if vertigo is what you had/have. I have been missing in action...no real excuses for not checking in, sometimes just forgot. But today I weighed myself, and low and behold I have reached my goal of 10 pound loss! So of course I had to get on line and report the good news ...considering all the weeks of non good news!! Congrats, it seems the weight is now starting to drop for most people....persistence gets us there I guess!

Well, weighed in today and was only down .2 lbs, but I admit that I fell off the wagon (severely) a couple times. Ah well, it's a new week. Onward and upward!!!!!

yeah chappy, I'm off for the forest for a night. Packing takes longer than we'll stay up there. Good news I'm down a pound this morning, let's see if I can hold on to it thru check in day.
For some reason I'm packing one so today's word(s) is inflatable kayak.
