Really late checking in. Couldn't get online this afternoon as apparently my router was not communicating with my modem. Oh the joys of technology.
Nice to "meet" you Rihannsu, and you're doing GREAT! Well, I thought I was definitely losing some this week, it felt like I had, but actually gained .6 lbs according to the scale this morning. One of those fluctuations I guess so trying not to let it be discouraging and stick to the plan. I'm closing in on 30 lbs. as well, which is halfway to my target, so hope I'll get there next week!
MRI result on the ankle shows inflammation in one of the tendons, so now getting a cortisone shot in the tendon, waiting for an appointment. Not particularly looking forward to that!
Glad you're here to brighten up the thread Chapf!

wow fiercelier, great job!
I was officially down another pound this week with some peeks (yeah I weigh almost every day) at lower numbers that unfortunately didn't stay for weigh in day but that I hope to see again soon.

Friday - Sweet PotatoGiving chappy some love here Don't remember if I've shared this recipe before. My son and I sat for an hour at the fair one year watching a guy demonstrate "waterless" cooking pots and pans. One of the items was sweet potatoes. I decided that my pots (that did not cost $100 each) could do the job just fine. After murdering a pair of parakeets I only have stainless steel pots anymore, a great set found at Macy's. Peel and cube 1 sweet potato Place in pot with 1/4 cup water Cover and Cook on medium for 5 minutes Turn to low and cook for 5 minutes Turn off and wait 5 minutes before uncovering Your sweet potato should be fork tender, the water should have mostly steamed away, and you can enjoy plain or with butter or brown sugar.

Good morning!!! Weighed in at WW and am down 2.4 lbs this week, for a total of -7 lbs. Going pretty well, but doing a lot more cooking than I have been (and lots more cleaning up!! UGH!!). Trying to get myself moving a bit more, but that isn't easy. ;-| Working on it!!

Found an interesting weight loss book free online called "The Hackers Diet" www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/It is free and was an interesting read if only for the writing style and mental approach. The writer is an engineer/computer software guy (developed Autocad), very successful and finally decided to approach weight loss as you would a problem to be solved both from the perspective of an engineer and that of a business person. Nicest thing is that he has online tools you can sign up and access the main one of interest being a log to take daily weight readings and plot your actual weight loss trend so that you can see just how irrelevant all those daily ups and downs in your weight readings are. I entered all the data I had since February and ended up with this chart. The light gray line is plotted from my actual weight readings and the red line is the weighted or smoothed average which gives you a truer picture of my progress. So if weight fluctuations drive you crazy look for something like this to help you see the real trend. Oh by the way in the book he tells you how to figure your trend with just pencil and paper so you can do it yourself if you don't want to use his log. But I think there are also apps available that do the same type of calculation. Just thought that this is a really good visual look at why stressing out over particular day's reading is useless.
