Last year at this time Adam was just starting BTIKM promo. We were expecting a March album release. :-/

I would be thrilled IF just half of what had gone wrong with era 2 would be working right in era 3, fingers & toes crossed! (side eyeing RCA...)
Oh, have you listened to JT's new track? I'm waiting for the whole album...
I'm digging the strategy though. No free preview, straight to iTunes! Wonder if Adam could, or should, adopt that....?

I think the free single with an albbum pre order is a horrible strategy for Adam. His stans are going to pre order anyway! I only like JT's song without the intro and without the rap. I am really surprised that i-Tunes has it listed under Pop. That song does not sound Pop to me at all. I am so excited for his fans. Can you imagine if Adam did no music for 7 years!! YIKES!!!!

I think that iTunes listed him as pop because that is the genre that he was in before. I wonder if they just put artists in a box (label) and there they stay forever. I was not impressed with JT's song. Sounded generic. (But I never was a big JT fan, so what do I know?) I agree that the free song isn't the best idea. I hope they stop that.

Thank you for the WW album and single charts Maddie. I specifically checked in here because I have been reading elsewhere....LOL... that Adam's world wide sales of FYE may not be more than Scotty McCreery's WW sales of his debut.
Now that I see by these charts that Carrie Underwood's WW sales seem to be no larger than her US ones, I feel pretty sure ( I was sure already but wanted some hard numbers) that Scotty's would not even be close to Adam's.

I am sure Scotty has NO WW sales. Country music just is not big in many other countries, maybe Canada, and Australia. I think that is it! And Scotty is REALLY country, not Pop/Country like Carrie!

Interesting article about JT's and Jay Z's "business model." Not sure I agree about the album every 5 years part. Only people who are already huge can do that and only certain genres. I do agree about the diversifying though & touring. t.co/kZlvtNzD

Do they have a chart source for such info/assessment 'cuz I would very much like to see it? OR, just someone's "gut feeling"??
Anyways, Clear As Day has sold 1,133,000 copies as of Dec 2012 in the US, per www.usatoday.com/story/idolchatter/2012/12/12/american-idol-soundscan-sales/1764689/ And, below are the countries it has charted, but only been certified in one country so far --- the US (Platinum).
Canadian Albums Chart ---- 4 New Zealand Albums Chart ---- 32 UK Country Artist Albums Chart ---- 5 (didn't make it to the main Top 40 Official UK Albums Chart) US Billboard 200 ---- 1
FYE, on the other hand, has charted in 21 countries and been certified in 7 countries (4 Platinum and 3 Gold). The last press release from RCA regarding FYE's worldwide sales, I think, was close to 2 million copies, which anyone can see that Scott's debut Clear As Day's sales aren't remotely close to that figure (I would take a wild guess of no more than 1.2 million worldwide at best). Country music has a very limited int'l market, and Taylor Swift doesn't count. ;D
