www.ydtalk.com/idolchatteryd/the-best-idol-videos-of-2012/January 8, 2013 2012 in Review: The best Idol videosby Mark Franklin Former Idol contestants released more than 25 music videos in 2012. Here are my picks for the five best, followed by all the others I could find. 1. Daughtry: “Outta My Head” 2. Adam Lambert: “Never Close Our Eyes”The Season 8 runner-up went futuristic sci-fi for the second video from his “Trespassing” album. He plays the role of a rebel in a world of conformists. And starts his own mini-revolution. Big surprise, right? Anyway, I’m a sucker for synchronized floor-scrubbing sequences, so this makes the list. 3. Carrie Underwood: “Blown Away” 4. Kris Allen: “The Vision of Love” 5. Bucky Covingon: “Drinking Side of Country” The others Adam Lambert — “Better Than I Know Myself”

This is what Adam said in that interview, "think definitely with the music stuff I'm different, I'm not the normal guy, especially in the US and it does Come up in my music and so I think it's been an interesting thing trying to convince people". It would be unwise, and unlike him, to call out his own music unpopular in the US, perception is everything in the show biz. It's the same thing when some interviewers said to him Trespassing had done extremely well, he would always say something like, "oh yeah, it hit #1 on BB", instead of "oh, no, only the first week....".
Sorry, I used the wrong words : I was just wondering if he used a slower song if it will appeal more. If you look at the Glamberts many of them are "older" women. I think it a very neglected market. I think the slower songs will definitely appeal to the "older" market. On the other hand the younger people want to jump and dance and look for something with a beat. This album also answer to that need.
No problem The "older glamberts" might be some media's perception and one of the most vocal & visible demos among Adam's fans, particularly in the US, but in reality, Adam's fans come all ages, with a more younger leaning demo overseas for sure. However, no artist can achieve success by only appealing to certain section of his fan base.
ETA: btw, I don't want to see Adam end up being a cult following artist, like Jake Shears or Beth Ditto, he needs to broaden his audience and expand his fan base, with songs that will do the job and... a better gutsy promo and a bit of luck!

I think they appreciate big songs, where his spectacular voice so comes in front. Can be slow or fast. By the way, the song my my DD, who likes but is not a fan of Adam, immediately liked and still likes is "Shady". It's the great beat and very unique vibe coming from excellent vocals of Adam + that something added by Nile and Sam.

Even lumping the 'older Glamberts' into one group that would prefer the 'slower songs' is a mistake. We are not all the same.... and do not all share the same taste in music. I listen to all genres, from pop to punk, from metal to R&B and everything in between.

I must stop thinking :4OMG: I'm just trying to figure out why Adam are not getting the recognition I believe he should get and are there no ways to change the situation :dunno:

I found a sample video from the London Day 2 DVD that someone posted on YouTube. Be sure to listen with headphones on to get the full effect of the wonderful audio editing job that the Queenzone person did. The main audio used was one he recorded with high quality microphones. Then he added a multi-cam video edit to the audio and enhanced his audio with some of the audio from the videos to get a fuller effect. A description of how the audio and video were done is on the Queenzone site: www.queenzone.com/forums/forum_topic_view.aspx?q=1329156Note that the video on the Queenzone DVD (which is in 480p) looks better than the 480p video on YouTube. This is because the video on the DVD has a higher bitrate, i.e., the pixel data that makes up the image is refreshed more often. YouTube typically cuts the bitrate down to save space.

There was some discussion about subbing or dubbing interviews. Since I have so strong feelings about his I want to comment: I do understand that there are areas, where people have a challenge to read, but otherwise I find subbing to be the only respectful way to translate anything, weather it is a movie, interview, or document. Dubbing is always spoiling the original work. Like overdriving Adam's voice . It also provides an opportunity to those who are hearing disabled. And how fast to read is only question of routine. My son did read fluently subtitles, when he was 5, and Finnish is much more complicated language than many others. But we don't dub almost anything here ( I am so grateful), so we have the routine, and thus also an opportunity to hear foreign languages to learn and to get a better feeling of different cultures. English is not my first language, but I watch a lot of e.g. Japanese movies with English subtitles, and have absolutely no problem with that. So hopefully we can hear Adam's beautiful voice loud and clear also in interviews!

Okay, I join the competition! One of my all-time favorite live performance videos of Adam is this one! Not only that the sound quality and the video itself are good, but I like Adam's performance here very much! He sings very powerful, the band sounds good and he shows all his sides, sexy and rocking during the songs but also funny and cute between the songs and at the end (waterbottle!)! In my opinion also a perfect video to introduce Adam to "newbie's"!
