Gaga(wifey) has even cut off all ties to PH. I believe KP has also. He has lost a lot of his divas, but cuddling up to Rhianna lately. Yep! He has Gaga on his side, no more! You know, I am smarter than Perez, happier than Perez, nicer than Perez, prettier than Perez! ;D Adam threw him aside and has ignored him since early 2011. So do I!! If Adam chooses to address it via twitter, so be it! But I really don't give a fuck what Prez thinks or writes! HE IS SLIME!!!!! |

This contract was signed in January 2009 -- so has nothing to do with the Idol judging stuff. There are no options. The AI Season 8 contract was filed in a court filing in California, and it is a 4 year term. Adam is not the first to leave 19R -- that would be Clay Aiken.
Adam will not get a raise from this -- Sony will not have to pay 19R for future recordings. In an indirect way, Adam will make more money IF he has a profitable #3 album. If the album is in the red, won't make any difference.
Ah! Clay Aiken! I totally forgot about there was once an Aiken in the Idol family! Sorry, I didn't even know about the show till Underwood's season, but I've now somewhat caught up, I think. 
Yes, Clay was the first to leave 19R and cut all ties to the Machine, and his legal battle winning over the Machine has been his singular most important contribution.
Re Aiken hadn't had much of a career after leaving the Machine, it had very little to do with the contracts, labels & managements but mostly to do with his music style, his appeal, his audience demo and his marketability.

So Barry Weiss is the CEO of UMG? How did I not know this??? He was a HUGE Adam supporter at RCA, and I hated when he left. Oops, he's not. He's CEO of two of the divisions, Island def Jam and Universal Republic. Like Iovine is CEO Interscope (another division). Lucian Grange is CEO of UMG. BIG OOPS!!! Thanks Susie :-/ .. but anyway.. maybe he can open a way for Adam .. who knows!?? |
