There Idols who are from the first 5 seasons have a different set of contract terms. I do not know where season 6 falls. I believe Kelly is stuck with 19R for 10 years which should be over now. Some of the others have time left -- most valuable are Carrie and Daughtry. Sometime after Clay Aiken won his suit against 19 Entertainment for the excessive contract terms, the contract was changed. IMO it was the most important thing Clay ever did. But Clay hasn't had much of a career since that time either. :-/ Clay sued and ended ALL ties with Idol, everything, management, records, entertainment.... all of it! He was not at a point in his carer where it was proably a good move. But, like Q3 said, I am grateful that he did because it made the Idol contracts better. You guys, all 19R does is take money! That's it! Period! It is the way they collect from the Idols that were on their show that got record deals!!Them being out of the picture is a very good thing! Why is that so hard to understand?!  |

The only loser in this situation is CORE Media.
I expect that Adam will still be involved with Idol and appear on the show if he wants in the future. The end of the agreement with 19R is not related to appearing on the show. They book people who generate ratings and are entertaining. Even Clay Aiken appeared on Idol AFTER he had sued 19 Entertainment and broke his contract with them.
