From what I remember of Ruben Studdard, he seems like a nice guy but personality-wise he has all the excitement of soggy bread. Besides, I hate having four judges on the show. It takes ten times as long for all the judges to make their comments as it does for the contestant to sing the song. Adam, Kelly Clarkson, and Kellie Pickler would be a good panel, I think--Adam and Kelly for their musical knowledge and Kellie for the fun factor. Obviously, Adam would add a fun factor too, since he has a great sense of humor. If either Kelly or Kellie didn't want to do it, another possibility is--and hear me out here--Taylor Hicks. He knows tons about music and performers. In his season, when the other kids were saying things like, "I didn't know any of [the mentor's] songs," Taylor was enthusiastically telling his favorite songs of everyone from Barry Manilow to Rod Stewart to Queen. He also gave advice to other Idol contestants that I swear could have been said by Adam--and he even mentions Adam at the end of the article. Taylor Gives Idol AdviceIt could be interesting and revitalizing to the show to have an all-Idol alum panel. But please, let's stick to three judges and make the show more about the contestants.

I think Adam as an Idol judge would have placed him back in the public eye and made him a household name again. As it is, the general U.S. public has no idea he is still doing ANYTHING musically. We only know what he is doing because we follow him and devour any bit of info about him. As far as the general public, he has fallen off the face of the earth. Don't hear much of Lady Gaga since her injuries,Or Katy since her separation from What's his name? I think It's just the name of the game,New music and gossip 24/7.IMHO Adam gets a great deal of press in the U.S. and in the world. Ha, ha! There is lots of stuff about Gaga and Katy all the time. You probably just don't pick up on it.

There is only one other show out there that would give Adam the exposure Idol does. Being a judge is no longer a stigma. And Adam would be the best judge ever so no worries!

I am a Taylor Hicks fan. Not a stan, but a fan. His recommendations sound just like the things Adam has said about what he did while on the show. Wing it? Nope. "I listened to my headphones and planned out my performances," Hicks says. "I’d do it in the bathroom, in between commercials, at night in front of the mirror when I got home. When everyone was going out for pizza, or seeing what they said in OK! Magazine, I stayed home and practiced in the living room and planned my attack. I tried to live in the song."
Let’s get physical. "Remember that it’s a television show," Hicks says. "It’s visual. It’s a singing competition, yes. The ultimate end game is trying to create a hit record with your voice. But it’s a TV show. You have to balance the visual entertaining with the singing. You have to move, and yes, I think you have to dance. It can be an endearing quality. You’ll never have another moment like this, so let it all hang out."
Collaborate with coaches. "Some of it has to be yourself," Hicks says. "You can’t make Joe Cocker do the moonwalk. But the show has coaches and choreographers, and they can help you use that small, minute amount of creative freedom you have. My choreography coach on ‘American Idol’ was Carrie Ann (Inaba) from ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ (Vocal coach) Debra Byrd was great. They’re professionals, and I always listened to their advice."

Or even in the same episode--on Elvis night, when each contestant did two songs, Taylor danced through the audience singing "Jailhouse Rock" for his first selection, and sat on the stage for a heart-tugging performance of "In the Ghetto" for his second number. On another episode that required two performances, he did "Play That Funky Music" and "Something (In the Way She Moves)." He has said that he wanted his entire run on the show to be like a set for a concert, with a variety of songs to hold the interest of the viewers. Sound like someone we know?

That may well be true, but I never see, hear or read anything about him except here on this Adam fan forum. And I don't think I'm alone on this. Oh well. I agree with you. I rewatched the Andy Cohen show with Adam last night. A caller claimed to be a big fan and said she had bought Trespassing. Adam asked her which song was her fav and she said Whatya Want From Me. The further Adam has gotten from the regular Idol TV appearances, the further he has gotten from the public's thoughts. I simply don't think that point is arguable. I agree with both of you. I talk to friends, family members, co-workers, my hair dresser, my eyebrow lady, even strangers about Adam and they all seem to have heard of him (many say isn't he the one who won American Idol) but have no idea he is still around and was releasing albums. A couple were even co-workers who LOVED him on American Idol. I've been wanting to share this story which is kinda sorta related to what the general public knows of Adam. I went to a party last spring with about 50 people in attendance. I mentioned to an acquaintance that I was going to see my favorite singer in London. When she asked who, she immediately said "EWWWWW". And she had never heard of Queen before. People overheard us talking and so they started chiming in. Most people heard of him but either knew nothing about his career or they just didn't like him. I spent the whole evening defending Adam. When the original person who said "EWW" heard that Adam was still the topic of conversation later in the evening (not because of me initiating it, people just kept asking me about why I liked him), she said "Are you still talking about him? You need to forget about him and pay more attention to your man at home". I replied "You're being judgmental" and almost got into a fist fight with her right then and there. Probably one of the worse social situations I've ever been in. :( Oddly enough, when the "EWWW" girl and I were first talking about Adam, her date seemed very disinterested and immediately started playing with his iphone. He then shows me a picture on his iphone. It was of Adam and his cousin. His cousin was one of the dancers on the official "Never Close Our Eyes" video. Small world.

As far as I'm concerned, re AI, this is how it goes: Adam watches it. Adam tweets about it all the time. Adam wants to be the judge. I think he loves the damn thing:) So, that's why I want him to have it. As you can see, I'm being completely irrational. On a more rational note, I think it cannot harm him and it would definitely contribute to his exposure. On the question whether Adam would 'save' it, it's the least important issue, because the show itself is irrelevant to me. What is relevant are Adam's wishes, and the exposure he would get. I really hope he gets it, he would be happy as a kid in a candy store, I think.

Yeah, in the US Adam has completely dropped off the radar. Here's hoping his team makes smart choices and radio gives him a shot next album.
Don't know if I would be willing to go down the AI road again, lol. For me, I guess it would all depend on who else would be sittting on the panel, because as we've seen this year, chemistry is everything. I will say, next season's AI would probably be amazing timing in terms of album 3...

re our favorite recurring topic - AI judging : I trust Adam to know if it is beneficial to his career to be involved with AI or not given all kinds of considerations, but otherwise I would like him to be "approached" and for him to be able to accept or decline... re Adam in the media: IMO he is non-existent in any mainstream print media, radio ,TV or online mainstream media in the USA. He is prominent in the smallish gossip on-line pubs that are looking for some extra hits. A "regular" person has no idea of what he's been doing or if he exists for that matter. From that POV the WATN on AI would be great even without his appearance live... RCA makes no effort to promote his achievements at the moment ... sorry for the "negative" view of things, but to me this IS the reality... YMMV Hope GLAAD award will be covered prominently and widely.
