I know it won't happen, but I was listening to "Nirvana" the other day and thinking what a beautiful duet that would be. I think it's likely that Angie and Adam will sing a cover. I predicted the other day that they'd sing Angie's self-written song, but indications are that she is going to have the chance to sing that song solo in the program. Of the likely Adam songs they could sing, I would rather have them sing BTIKM than WWFM, because Adam has never sung BTIKM on Idol. It would make a nice duet. Still think they'll sing a cover, though. Usually, the contestant sings one of the duet partners songs. I can't think of a time when that didn't happen and they covered a song by someone else. Also,I think that would kind of take away from Adam as a returning "star" with his own music. That's why I really think they will sing WWFM. It's his biggest hit and yes, Adam has sung it before, but Angie hasn't! :-) I can. The winner of season five, Taylor Hicks, sang "In the Ghetto" with Toni Braxton in the finale. It was a song he did solo to great acclaim during the competition. So it's possible Adam and Angie could do one of the songs she did during the season. Offhand I can't think of all the songs she did, but I'm sure there's something there that would make a great duet.

I am quite thrilled that Adam is going to be singing with Angie, and am very happy that Idol is treating him like the star he is by selecting him as the first non winner to duet on the finale. How I feel about the issue of Angiegate, which I now believe should maybe called the RSgate, in no way diminishes the joy I feel about having Adam on my TV. I am certain that they will sound great, and look great together. If I had a wish come true, they would sing BTIKM. I want something from Trespassing to give that wonderful album more exposure.

I'm sorry I know I should let this go, but being stubborn is a personality trait that I have trouble with. Sometimes an omission can be an insult for example: If someone asked if I would like to celebrate my birthday with my friend Susan, and I answered "yes she is a great friend, and so much fun" that does not insult other fiends. On the other hand, if someone asked would I like to celebrate my birthday with Susan and Mary, and I answered,"Susan is such a great friend and so much fun I would be thrilled to celebrate with her" Mary would be completely justified in feeling insulted. What made the RS answer an insult was that Adam's name was included in the question. But--what if you were already fairly certain that Mary was coming to the party, but you had no idea that Susan would be able to be there. And someone said, "We hear that you will be celebrating your birthday with Mary and possibly Susan." Would it be insulting to Mary to reply, "Well, I don't know for sure who will be there, but it would be great if Susan could come!" That's not saying you don't care about Mary; you just assumed she would be there and were surprised to hear that Susan might be there too. I think that's a more apt comparison. There had already been talk about Angie singing with Adam. This may be the first time anyone had floated the name of Jessie J to Angie--I certainly hadn't heard any buzz about it--and she was reacting with shocked delight at the idea of being able to duet with her favorite singer. Remember one thing--we have had days to dissect Angie's words and make assumptions about what she meant. She had to respond to the question on the spot. Haven't you ever said something you regret because you realize later that you didn't say exactly what you meant, or you left something out that you should have said, or you recognize that your words could easily be misinterpreted? I certainly have. If Angie had said, "Oh, I hope it's Jessie J and not Adam Lambert! I want to sing with the best singer, and that's Jessie J!" then yeah, I'd help get out the torches and the pitchforks. But she didn't say anything like that. I'm perfectly okay with her being excited about dueting with someone she admires, and I'm not going to assume that it means she's not thrilled to be sharing a stage with Adam.

I have been suspecting Mad World, but since Angie is doing a ballad, solo, maybe she and Adam will do a rock song. Angie loves Rock. Pretty sure Nirvana is about getting high, so not sure that would be a good idea with Angie. It is? I thought I heard Adam say it was a lullaby to his love, which is why I don't think he will sing it.

What made the RS answer an insult was that Adam's name was included in the question. The analogy you pose is interesting but not parallel to this case. None of us is Mary, none of us knows Mary. It only makes sense if you make them celebrities. Q: Angie, I hear you have be invited to Adam Lambert's and to Jessie J.'s birthday parties. Is there any truth to these rumors? ** Back to what actually happened. We know is Adam's duet is supposed to be a surprise and was not suppose to leak. We do not know what instructions Angie had prior to the interview. We do not know if she was told she could not mention Adam and that it is supposed to be a surprise. In the past, contestants are not allowed to reveal anything about the finale. We also do not know if RS posted her complete answer. For all we know she talked about Adam but the writer did not include it. Angie has never said or written anything negative about Adam -- in fact last week she tweet this: Angie Miller@angieai12 7 May @adamlambert @americanidol this means the world! Your amazing =) =) means "Happy". Why would someone who tweeted that and who is going to duet with Adam, insult Adam 3 days later? It makes absolutely no sense. Take a minute to learn a little about Angie and you will see it is almost impossible that she could insult anyone. She is a 19 year old who wears her heart on on sleeve and whose biggest problem is she can be saccharinely sweet and way too perky.

It's about being transported "to a higher plane" by the bliss of being in love. I don't think it would be the duet because it wasn't a single hit and in fact was one of the bonus songs on Trespassing, but it sure would be lovely! Angie has a beautiful clear tone to her voice that I think would blend well with Adam's for an ethereal effect on the song. But the chances of it happening are virtually nil, IMO.
