Adam is a class act. When we all watched Idol when we were falling in love with Adam Lambert, we wanted the finale to be about the contestants, right? Well Adam did JUST THAT. He made that song, that moment about Angie Miller. And he did it all with a serene smile, a beautiful, loving, gracious spirit. Did you hear the crowd when Adam opened his mouth? NO ONE else got a reaction like THAT last night. That collective gasp/shriek/sigh of the pure feeling of exhilaration that happens when you are in the SAME SPACE with Adam when he sings. He IS pure sensation and understands what it means to connect, be in the moment and serve up exactly what should be served. ETA: HA! I just saw the popstar review and got a quick update on all the awesome press about what a great duet that was. Yeah, it was a little short due to the whole Jesse J thing, but whatever. The Idol Finale is always a hybrid of really amazing stuff mixed in with a bunch of cheesy schlock (mariah medley anyone?) And Jesse J is at least an interesting gender bending character. Angie must have been in some kind of heaven. Shining on stage with THE Adam Lambert and then having her personal idol show up and invite her to the UK to sing her original song. That is good good stuff and I know Adam was just happy for Angie!! And happy to be there in the moment, sharing the excitement. amw, agree with your post completely  |

oh,oh -- it seems they're deleting some of the duet vids -- "owned by Freemantle". We should make sure we are watching it on the Idol You Tube channel anyway. Hits, hits, hits!
Now can't wait to hear the whole new song next week!!

pisces -  Just watched the post press interview. "Working on new music" that always makes me super happy........and the Queen gigs got talked about too. Nice. Ok, got to go walk the dog and engage in some work related activities today. |

OMG the preliminary ratings are out! They really are going to fire everyone -- except Ryan. Idol was down 47% from last year!! 47% is an unprecedented drop for any series y-to-y. On FOX the finale of American Idol earned a 3.4 from 8-10PM, up from last week's 2.8, but down sharply from the 6.4 last year's finale earned. In total viewers, this marks the first year that American Idol's finale did not hit the 20 million mark. For those interested, in the half hour that the American Idol finale went up against The Big Bang Theory, it only earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. I wanted to jump in and say I have always loved Lyndsey Parker's interviews, she is music savy and keeps the focus where it needs to be. However, in that press interview after the AI performance, I think it was her voice asking Adam if he was going to shave his head like Jesse J.. I thought we were done with the jabs like that. And to find out Jesse did it in support of cancer. I was a little surprised to hear that question from Lyndsey.
Otherwise a perfect night, I feel so weepy, but in a good way.
