Hi guys! Just had to log in to say KUDOS to Kamar for her succinct assessment of Adam's AI gig last night. Also for JazzRocks and amw, and just about everyone else that has commented. And, Q3, I didn't know you sang! Who wouldn't want to sing an intimate, soul wrenching ballad with Adam Fucking Lambert?I want to be Angie Miller: ∞ Mary, Please ∞ S4A scorpiobert Adam & Angie pic.twitter.com/SQ6OQtNNh8 pbs.twimg.com/media/BKb8jcACYAAmLNU.jpg:largeeta: don't know why this pic won't show, it is from p. 1, Angie wrapped around AFL Read more: atop.proboards.com/thread/1729/17-13-adam-returns-idol#ixzz2TZ9n1rruConfession: I taped the show and only watched Adam's performance, then fast forwarded to see who won, and felt sorry for Candice because she couldn't even make it thru the song. I have not even watched AI this year, except the top 3 show. There have been some really great posts here, sorry I can't reference them all. What really stood out to me about this performance was the total genius artistry of it. That is artistry with capital A: ARTISTRY. PERIOD.The way it was filmed, the staging, the angles of the camera was masterful. The way that Angie and Adam's voices blended in perfect harmonies, neither overshadowing the other, but in blissful union was simply genius. There really are not enough superlatives to describe how great this performance was. My favorite part was when the camera first panned to Adam and he started singing and the crowd went wild. That very slight smile as he sang to the roars of the crowd. Adam is such a joy to watch, joy is not even the right word. I am speechless. Carry on.........

www.countryweekly.com/blog/candice-glover-wins-american-idols-12th-seasonAngie Miller got to return to sing "Titanium" with Adam friggin' Lambert, rearranging it more as a piano ballad than its popular dance-floor-friendly version. It turned out to be a twofer, because Angie's hero Jessie J (in a PG-13 chest-baring outfit) showed up to sing "Domino." ---- lol a country AFL fan for the win!

We know the reason that he sang Titanium -- Angie picked it. And JMHO I do not think "Stay" had anything to do with what was going on between Adam and Sauli at the time. (Sorry if I misinterpreted your point.) It is a great song, and covered by so many artists. In any case, Adam has never said anything to connect his cover of "Stay" directly to his relationship with Sauli. But thanks for the excuse to post this... youtu.be/ISY6Pz3kxeYSorry, don't agree -- only speculation on my part -- it may be that Stay is a spectacular song and that's why he picked it but I think otherwise (with no substantiation whatsoever). It IS a stellar song and he killed it. I'm supremely happy that he chose to cover it -- maybe he only chose it because he got GREAT press from it -- I just feel otherwise. And, I know that Angie chose the duet and that's reason enough for Adam to sing it. That wasn't HIS cover, it was hers. For the record, I don't think Adam was begging Sauli to "Stay" when he covered that song. I can't really know what Adam was thinking, but I think this continued discussion is a way to try to hang on to the A/S relationship. The Adam/Sauli ship has sailed and sunk. Let go of the wreckage and swim for shore.

OMG the preliminary ratings are out! They really are going to fire everyone -- except Ryan. Idol was down 47% from last year!! 47% is an unprecedented drop for any series y-to-y. On FOX the finale of American Idol earned a 3.4 from 8-10PM, up from last week's 2.8, but down sharply from the 6.4 last year's finale earned. In total viewers, this marks the first year that American Idol's finale did not hit the 20 million mark. For those interested, in the half hour that the American Idol finale went up against The Big Bang Theory, it only earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. Q3 can this be broken down for before Adam sang and after? Or perhaps you did and I'm undereducated as to what is being reported. Funny you were posting as I was goggling to try and see if the ratings were higher before Adam sang. Did they drop after he was on and TVs across the nation switched off because of no more ADAM?

WHAT?? the critiques of the duet are soaringly great.. If anything IMHO ,Idol might have done better if they had picked Adam to be a judge To add, IMO,Idol didn't promote the guest stars enough before the show ,everything seemed to be a secret.. A little dumb IMHO.

Oh, guys:))) No poetry from me this time around - I'm so tired, because I WATCHED him last night, at one or two AM, I don't even remember, even though I hadn't planned, I woke up all by myself RIGHT BEFORE his performance and if that ain't karma, I don't know what is. I just remember sleepily groping all over my computer and he was ON.
I read all your posts, too:) I agreed with every single one of them, even with the seemingly contrary ones, because yet again, he had it all figured out, he had it all up his pretty little sleeve and the bottom line is that one just needs time, one needs TO THINK in order to get Adam, at least I do - no instant chicken noodle soup from him, no way. And as much as we feel that Adam has to KISS it in the future, Keep It Short and Simple, that ain't happening, I'm afraid.
For starters, I have to say that I LOVE Titanium. I have it on my phone. I have always thought the lyrics were perfect for Adam, so, so perfect, but I honestly thought he could not do it better than Sia, vocally. She has this powerful voice, in a different way than Adam's is... But he did it, he did it and it was so amazing and beautiful and lovely and endearing and it made me feel all these feeeeelings and he's put this sensation of fullness and swelling into my heart once again and he makes me write these stupid never-ending run-on sentences:))) That feeling of fullness and swelling - it may be pride and love, but I ain't confessin' nuthin')
I mean, I should have known, the minute I saw his toned down outfit. I thought it was odd and instead of picking up his clue, no, I kept wondering like an idiot. When I saw him with his back turned to the audience, I should have known then as well. But then he started singing, and I died, I DIED with the sweetness of his voice and, please, let me say here as some of you already did at what exact words - RICHOCET, DOWN, GET, UP, AIM, AWAY, and omg, everything, all of it, really!!!
He has infused such sweetness and beauty into those lyrics, similar to what he's already shown in Stay, for example, and what makes his voice different and better and more than all those powerful voices we heard on Idol last night - it is even more beautiful when it is not 'powerful', it's just multi-dimensional, as already established here. I can't explain it, ask Cassie or Holst or Glampoon, I don't know how he does it, all I know is that he sings in beauty.
Re his gentlemanly behaviour, all I can say is, "I told you so")) Because I have always thought that of him, and some people kept calling me delusional and projecting and what not, but he is, he is, I am not stupid, I know what I see. I am just stupid for him:) He is my Sir:)))
Love you, guys, it's been a wonderful night really:))) I'm off to do something about my sleep-deprivation:)))

Let go of the wreckage and swim for shore. I agree. Adam and Sauli broke up (amicably) sometime before the start of the WAG tour, so I doubt Adam would have been singing "Stay" to his ex-boyfriend. Maybe Adam just likes the song. As Adam himself has said, sometimes it's not that deep.
