The fast affiliate ratings are only in large blocks of time. Adam was on in the higher rated hour after Big Bang aired. Eventually, I can get to more info but I would not expect there to be any Adam effect on the ratings that can be measured with the timing of the performance. He was on right after 9:00PM and the TV competition changed. Big Bang finale followed by Big Bang rerun ran in the 8-9PM hour.
Edited for clarity. **
Lots of Adam music on the iTunes charts -- not high but there.

OMG the preliminary ratings are out! They really are going to fire everyone -- except Ryan. Idol was down 47% from last year!! 47% 44% is an unprecedented drop for any series y-to-y. On FOX the finale of American Idol earned a 3.4 from 8-10PM, up from last week's 2.8, but down sharply from the 6.4 last year's finale earned. In total viewers, this marks the first year that American Idol's finale did not hit the 20 million mark. For those interested, in the half hour that the American Idol finale went up against The Big Bang Theory, it only earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. | FOX | American Idol (8-10PM) -Season Finale | 3.4 | 11 | 13.61 |
This drop in ratings is terrible. The Idol finale isn't "must see TV" anymore. I know that the Idol producers traditionally like to keep the guest artists and the duets under wraps to surprise the audience, but given the lackluster ratings that Idol had this year, I wonder why they didn't break tradition and announce the roster of guests in advance and try to build some excitement for the finale. The finale needed all the help it could get to capture an audience, especially since it is so easy to skip watching the show and just check the internet to see who won. I think Q3 is right -- everyone is going to fired, and they deserve to be (including the people at FOX who chose the judges, but that won't happen). I know that Idol is an old show and has competition from The Voice and X-Factor, but the ratings didn't need to be as bad they were this year. Lots of bad decisions on the part of producers and FOX led to the significant loss of viewers.

Q3 can this be broken down for before Adam sang and after? Or perhaps you did and I'm undereducated as to what is being reported. Funny you were posting as I was goggling to try and see if the ratings were higher before Adam sang. Did they drop after he was on and TVs across the nation switched off because of no more ADAM? TV ratings are only reported on the half hour. Here is Idol for last night; as you can see the ratings rose every half hour, so I don't think that any increase can be attributed to Adam. The Big Bang Theory is now more popular than Idol. Its season finale ran at 8:00 p.m., beating Idol, and then a rerun of BBT ran at 8:30. I think some of the increases came from viewers shifting from BBT to Idol after the BBT episodes were over. 8:00 p.m.: Fox – American Idol (season finale) Viewers: 11.28 million (#2), A18-49: 2.8/10 (#2) 8:30 p.m.: Fox – American Idol (season finale) Viewers: 13.30 million (#1), A18-49: 3.3/10 (#1) 9:00 p.m.: Fox – American Idol (season finale) Viewers: 14.08 million (#1), A18-49: 3.6/10 (#1) 9:30 p.m.: Fox – American Idol (season finale) Viewers: 15.77 million (#1), A18-49: 4.1/11 (#1) So, Idol was still the top-rated show most of the night, but the absolute number of viewers was way down. Network TV is losing its audience, but the poor management of Idol isn't helping either.

We should make sure we are watching it on the Idol You Tube channel anyway. Hits, hits, hits! warning: stupid question: Why should I care how many hits this video gets? The reason for the question: I am not interested in promoting Angie, I am not interested in promoting Titanium, and I don't think the number of hits on this video will have any effect on future Adam's treatment by AI whatsoever. Q3 - thank you for the Titanium numbers update. Then don't watch it!But for the people who are watching it, I am suggesting they watch it on the YT channel because whether you think so or not, it does make a difference.

breathecast.christianpost.com/articles/angie-miller-adam-lambert-perform-flawless-arrangement-8242/Angie started the song at the piano, with just her vocal and piano and then the crowd erupted in applause when Lambert started singing his section. The song went to epic level though when they both started singing and harmonizing with each other. It really was one of the most flawless vocal combinations that I have heard. Their voices matched up so well and both had such good control of their pitch in this performance. Adam Lambert appeared on Season 8 of "American Idol" and made it to the Finale. He ended up getting runner up to Kris Allen.

If this video went viral (not saying it will, but IF it did), this would be a big win for all involved, including Adam. Several people have posted articles here in recent months about the importance of YouTube views and social media -- Billboard, record companies, radio stations all pay attention to them. This is the kind of thing that will build popularity and lift Adam's profile.

I found this compilation video in the archives of all of Adam's Idol moments during his season (Ending perfectly at the end of the Queen performance.) Really fun to watch Adam grow before our eyes.
Warning: Don't start watching unless you have time to finish. Extremely addicting!
