I liked Clay on his season and wanted him to win but after he made the remark that Adam's version of Ring Of Fire made his ears bleed I lost all respect for him. He's entitled to his opinion but to make a public statement like that after he's been where Adam was I was pissed. Adam was popular and getting a lot of press, so I think Clay just wanted to CASH in. As far as Clay being an Idol judge, lolololololololol nooooooooooo! After Clay dissed Adam, I read up on him more. I discovered that he dissed other artists during his concerts, lied about certain things, and got into a feud with Kelly Ripa. In case some of you don't know about it, he put his hand over Kelly's mouth and boy, was she was pissed. Apparently he apologized later, but we all know about his apologies. He just doesn't seem like a very nice person. Although I do have to give it to him that I heard he does do a lot for charity.

I could live with Kelly, Kellie and Adam as Idol judges.
But I cannot imagine Idol would go with and all white judging panel. I expect to see one black and one Latino judge. And JHud would not be good.
I think that this is just the beginning of months of Idol getting press by playing guess who is going to be judging Idol.
I will continue to root for Adam and believe little of what shows up in the press.

Interesting article but the collective brains of FOX and 19 have made so many mistakes!! This pretty much nails my opinion of them: “I’m interested to see what format change they think will reinvigorate the audience,” Yoshida says. “But knowing Idol, it’s probably going to be very stupid. They’ll just put more hashtags on everything. Or institute voting through Twitter. Or live performances on Facebook—something very clunky and not entertaining.”
I hope they focus on making the show more entertaining not fill it up with gimmicks!! But I do like the idea of putting Idol stars behind the judging table -- as long as that means ADAM.

Good article. There is something very satisfying about watching young talented people lay it all on the line and sing there hearts out knowing there is a real possibility that their dreams of a successful career making the music they love can be a reality. It gives the show so much more "soul" than its glitzy competitors. Adam understands the importance of helping contestants shine as he has expressed many times and so beautifully showed in his duet with Angie. He could be such a great judge.

I think its an awesome idea to bring back former idol alums who are now big stars, it would add credibility back to the show. But not sure about 4 judges, seeing it's pretty much confirmed that its going to be three judges, so prob two alums at max, and maybe a pop girl or an industry insider or something. But if they decide to go four then Kelly, Kellie, Adam, Katy Perry or Pink or maybe a music producer like Pharrell Williams or something.

Interesting coincidence... I clicked on my You Tube home page and an old "View" when Rosie O was still on and Kelly Ripa called in to comment on Rosie's remarks re Clay Aiken...and then I clicked on another link to this: youtu.be/hhOxz-EgiGMLots of viewpoints on Adam right after the Kris win. Oh, how wrong they were about Adam's appeal.

With the talk tonight about what people's impressions of Adam are, and that a stint on AI would give many a chance to really get to know the real Adam.... I think that is absolutely true, but
Regardless of how sweet and smart and funny he is, some will not be able to handle Adam. This discussion reminded me of that amazing video of Adam before he performed in the Zodiac show, and then the performance itself. I just love every bit of it - the sweetness and the wildness - and if he has to sacrifice some "popularity" to be his amazing self, I think Adam (and we) can accept that.
