I'm very late with this but I LOVED Adam and Angie on Idol. The harmonies were gorgeous! I've listened a zillion times and keep hearing subtle nuances each time. Fantastic! (on a side note...I made the mistake of reading the youtube comments and I honestly think some people are unhinged. There are a couple of people that continually troll the comments and slam down anyone they feel doesn't give Adam his due. There were even Adommy comments, smh. It's embarrassing IMO. The duet speaks for itself. The fandom cray don't have to be on display for the whole world to see - lol. And putting down Angie on the official AI video is just stupid. A guaranteed way to turn off her fans to Adam.
Anyhoo, I'd love Kelly and Adam as judges. Both are outspoken and I think they'd have something valid to offer the contestants. Just no to Clay, please. No. I've never been a fan. He actually creeps me out. And, call me crazy, but I'd like to see judges that may disagree but actually respect each other. I don't think there is any mutual respect between Adam and Clay. It would be hard to take.

Hey, didn't you all see Clay's judging debut on the spoof that was done on The Office recently? He sat on the three judge panel with Aaron Rodgers and Santigold to pick American's next Acapella Idol. Didn't we all love Clay when he was ON Idol? I know I was rooting for him to win and I will always remember Bridge Over Troubled Waters. I even sort of liked him on Celebrity Apprentice, the few episodes I watched. I can't think too deeply about Adam on Idol as a judge. Whether the show is on its way out. Or whether it is the correct career move. Or how the show is viewed by some. No matter- he can laugh all the way to the bank, like all of the judges before him. It's a job. If he doesn't get it he will find something else to do. eta: any other spelling errors? Adam doesn't like him. I did like him until he said that Adam's singing made his ears bleed.
I did like Clay on Idol, but - of course - I too sure didn't like his comment about Adam's singing. Maybe he's being considered as a blunt, Simon-like judge . . . Lots of contenders for these talent show judge positions. It seems he indeed wants it, so I have to hope he gets it. |

Anyway, I wonder if Adam would want Idol if radio had been all on board with Trespassing singles. I think maybe not.
