‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert’s ‘Love Wins Over Glamour’ at Life Ball 2013

Do we have a new song from Adam Lambert? It certainly looks that way! While at the Life Ball event this weekend in Vienna (which is designed to raise awareness against AIDS and money to help fight against the disease), the former “American Idol” star, who may be under consideration to become a judge next season, debuted a full version of a song entitled “Love Wins Over Glamour.” Adam wrote on his Twitter that this song was written specifically for the event, so we don’t want to speculate yet as to whether or not this is intended to go on a future record, or will just be released as a charity single at some point.
The first thing we have to talk about is that costume in the video below, which is fantastic and adds yet another international flavor to what was an international performance. The voice-overs in the middle of the song were a little distracting, but they may be important, and we don’t want to be one of those people who sits here and bashes something simply because we don’t understand the language.
It’s still going to take a few more listens to really get a sense of how much we like the song, but it has everything that we could ever ask for in an Adam Lambert track: Strong lyrics, a catchy beat, and an element that yields for great live performances. It also references in a sense his own signature style, while at the same time consciously admitting that while this may be important to him, it pales deeply in comparison to what he is really trying to say.

I would say heavy, loud backing track with Adam singing live but we couldn't hear him. When we hear the i-tunes version and see if all those riffs are in it, we will know better. But watch any of his MV & you will see he is a bad lip syncer, and this looked great, so I think he was actually singing. The recorded track is probably due to their tech specs. Yes.. that's what I'm thinking too.. When Adam has to perform without his band he always sings with backing track with his own voice as the backup singer. Did it mean he's lip sync? I think Adam used backing track with his own voice as the backup singer during GNT tour. Anyway, we will soon find out if the i-tunes version will be the same as this YT. |

This coat reminds me of the Sleepwalker coat. It has strap in the middle of his tummy to keep them in place together. I'm thinking they modify his dark blue Sleepwalker coat and added more stuff on it and ..... ABRACADABRA .. ALLAKHAZAM ... we got a new beautiful ALI BABA coat. |
