Hmmm...all this talk of whether he lip synced or not. I don't think it really matters, does it? I mean, he looked amazing, we know he a great time. He basically got to tell rich people with his song, "empty your pockets mother fuckers". You know he loved that. He got to perform on a crazy big stage with a bunch of shirtless men. It really is all good. We know the man does not lip sync for his own shows, so if for the sake of the show lip syncing was a necessary evil, in the long run, it makes no difference. The cause was served. He looked divine. Money was raised, Excellent exactly. I am personally more interested to know if he happens to be in NYC now - nice to be breathing the same air...

It is entirely possible to have the live vocals going out on site and yet have prerecorded vocals on the broadcast stream. It is possible that the same full track used at the rehearsal was what went out on the stream. It is also possible that even though his mic was live they deliberately had it lower volume in the mix to give precedence to the prerecorded track. Bono talked about this a lot with U2. Often when they appeared on TV shows what went out on broadcast was prerecorded even though they were actually playing live in studio. Later in there careers Bono always insisted that his vocals be totally live but he has the status to insist on that and Adam may not always be able to get his way there. As a matter of fact when they did SNL at one point Bono made a big deal about how they actually were totally live when most musical guests are not allowed that. In any case singing live with a recorded track behind you is not quite the same as true "lip syncing" which is actually just pretending to sing. He looked like he did a fine job of matching the track which actually doesn't surprise me because in my opinion the only times he has had "trouble" lip syncing were in situations where the video was actually being edited like in music videos or some TV programs where different camera angles where edited for a final show. I would think his theater training would insure he is capable of repeating performances exactly when necessary even if that is obviously NOT his preference. This makes a whole lot of sense! I wish you, or someone else if you like, would post this in the YouTube comments. Feel free to post it if you wish but don't expect to actually convince people. In my experience if they are determined to believe he is lip syncing nothing will sway them from that belief. Now if the media stories were talking about it then maybe commenting would be worth while but just on youtubes it's really not worth the aggravation.

Maybe he'll hold a press conference and sing it to us a cappella. I wish.

I want a referral to Barbara Eden's plastic surgeon. That is some work done right - a little here, a little there and she still looks exactly like herself.

Finally listened to my MP3 from the fan video. It is very obvious, to me, at the very end when he says "Glamour" for the last time it is his live voice. So my conclusion is heavy backing track, which is more obvious on the TV feed. But the live audience heard live Adam. I have also wondered if that little thing he does before the song starts is either him getting pitch or checking his mic sound. Neither of which would he need to do if he is not really singing. And one more thing,"Hell,ya!" to AMW!

I think, on this big of a production, Adam deserves a pass. I mean, we know he can sing, without lipsyncing or autotune. This was him flying into town, to be met with the production they had set up for him and it was probably the same for every act of the night. In this event it wasnt about organic or authenticity but about putting on a SHOW. The violinist played on the shoulders of a half naked man, for goodness sake. If we only cared about her music she could have stood there and played off a music stand. But it was about the presentation more than anything. Take a look at the production of eveything--from the opulent sets and the costumes, the OTT drag queens, and the wacky outfits, and the drama of the numbers. None of those things were really real, but they were art and transported you. That is what Adam has been doing in theater his whole life. It was his voice, only recorded earlier. He told a story and put on a show. Fabulously.
