I remember once back in 2009 when I felt guilty for spending too much time and attention on an up and comer named Adam Lambert. I got over it - not Adam but the guilt - and now realize it was time well spent and I continue to be just a bit obsessed with Adam and his exploits. No guilt, no reservations at all. I don't feel guilty either. Adam is my hobby! Lots of people have hobbies! I don't feel guilty either but I think it's kind of funny, I think it's kind of sad that my family and my 2 best friends don't know what to do with my AFL obsession. I don't bring him up nearly as much as I'd like to because I always get a very cool response. They know I spend a lot of time following him but they never ask about him (God forbid). It makes me feel just a tiny bit less loved. :-/ It's weird, they don't even tease me about it. I guess they think if they pretend it isn't there, it will go away. Fortunately, my DH is the most tolerant of the lot. Again, no guilt here. I'm enjoying myself thoroughly and just when I think I may be getting my perspective back a little bit, something like Life Ball happens and I'm right back down the rabbit hole. Best reality show EVVA!

I have one kid that puts me down for my AFL obsession and the other one tells me every one needs a HOBBY!

Hi Dear Christopher Ameruoso is working on this book with Priscilla Presley. For several months he has been photographing many different celebrities wearing/interacting with a pair of Elvis's famous sunglasses provided by Priscilla Presley and Graceland. These photos will be published in a hard cover book that is planned for an August 2013 release, coinciding with Elvis week. The book will be filled with about black and white photos of 80 different people with quotes from each person about Elvis. Thanks! Welcome to Adamtopia!

When I said I feel a little guilty spending so much time on line because I am doing Adam stuff, I didn't mean to imply that I had any real regret about devoting a good amount of my off hours following Adam and his career. I find it a very joyful and compelling hobby (to steel Myspensers term) My life is much richer since I became a fan, and I am grateful to him for enriching my life.

Hi all. I am typing on a tablet and it is the most frustrating thing evah! Sorry I missed the call about AFL's curly hair photo. The Congo has moved on but just wanted to say I was in heaven when I first saw that pic. So I was also very fond of the Messy Elvis 'do as well. Carry on.... (Don't know if this will go through. Yeah, if you're typing on an Ipad or a phone, editing on this "updated" forum is hit-or-miss.
Best results on a full computer. Or, you just do the "yep-onna-cell-so-deal-with-the-crappy-spelling" admittance.

Elvis was a poor white Mississippi redneck who was singing "that Negro rock n roll music". It was almost impossible for him to get radio play on the all-white stations back in the 50s. Plus, shaking his hips, curling that lip, driving the innocent lil gals CRAZY, was the devil himself come to town in the Bible Belt. But, resistance was futile & now The King is Legend! Our BB will pave his own way to music immortality! As a white man, Elvis never suffered the oppression that black folks in Mississippi did during the 1950's. No one tried to prevent him from exercising his civil rights or made him ride in the back of the bus. It's quite an overstatement to call him a member of a "stigmatized minority", IMHO.
