How about FRIEND.


The New F Word is a grass roots photo campaign and documentary film that aims to encourage the use of the word FRIEND to project inner strength and confidence. The concept by Elliot Dal Pra London & Ronnie Kroell was taken to a whole new level when Bianca Kosoy, famed branding creative genius, helped shape the campaign by giving it the edginess for which she is known. Add celebrity photographer and co-creator Ryan Forbes to the mix, and you have quite the creative team; bullying beware.

About FRIEND

Friend is a hybrid of a feature film and photo-campaign grass roots movement.

It all started at Dialog Cafe in West Hollywood, CA. with two dreamers. A film-maker and an activist sat down knowing that they were meant to work together, but in what aspect?

Elliot Dal Pra London had just come back from spending the summer on the road interviewing youth on what it is like to grow up and their experience of being bullied. Elliot was inspired and ready to make a compelling piece of art, but he needed to find the right person with a similar passion for making a difference.

Ronnie Kroell had been working on creating a grassroots movement that would aim to celebrate our diversity, but more importantly it would focus on the things we all share in common. It was in that moment, over a cup of coffee, that Friend Movement was conceived.

Thanks to the support of an incredible creative team and nearly a thousand donors through crowd-funding, we have been able to get the wheels in motion! In order to keep the momentum going, we need your help! We are living in a time where social networking has become a part of daily life; integrated into all aspects of what we do as human beings. With the constant evolution of how we view media, we are given incredible opportunities to be innovative, creative, and playful with our art.

American Idol’s Adam Lambert gets his beard on & receives ‘City of Hope Award’ in LA

Adam Lambert has been honoured once again this week, and we’re pretty sure that his trophy shelf at home must be bending in the middle right now because of all the excess weight!

The ‘For Your Entertainment’ singer headed to LA on Thursday to pick up a special award from the city’s mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, who has previously admitted that he is a big Lambert fan.

Lambert seemed excited to be heading to pick up his ‘City of Hope Award’ gong and the night before the ceremony he tweeted his followers saying:

“Receiving Los Angeles’ City of Hope Award from Mayor @villaraigosa this evening. What an honor!”

The American Idol star was chosen for the honour, because of his “accomplishments and advocacy on behalf of the LGBT community.” He certainly was the right man for the award.



Adam shared a picture of himself – looking great with his very tidy beard – and Villaraigosa posing with his trophy on his Instagram account and fans also posted many pictures of the ceremony which took place at the centrally located city hall.

Just a few weeks before, Adam was awarded the Davidson/Valentini prize at the 2013 GLAAD Awards. It is named in memory of Craig Davidson, GLAAD’s first executive director, and his partner Michael Valentini, a GLAAD supporter. It is presented to an openly LGBT individual who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for the LGBT community.



The star has been rubbing shoulders with the stars a lot recently and on Friday he told fans:

“Got to catch @imaginedragons last night at the Palladium! Great energy. ”

Lambert added:

“Happy Birthday @azealiabanks! So good to meet you in Vienna last weekend!”
