Wow and good for you Adam following what you know is right for you. Confused though, doesn't he have a contract for 5-7 albums? Or does this mean that both parties parted???? The contact is for options on 5 contracts -- RCA can decide if they want to exercise each option or not. And they can put terms on each option. And the record label has the right to decide is work is commercially acceptable even after exercising an option. Interesting that RCA Promo tweeted the GLEE story yesterday. Got it. Thanks!

I hope that Adam is seeing that things are moving in a positive direction. If so, I am a hoping that he can "walk away" from Melvin. I have a creative difference issue with Melvin.

LOL, y'all. Adam's picked the absolute worst week to go news-ballistic! I'm totally drowning in major work developments and deadlines, and can't keep up!! Thank got for Atop page 1! Everything I read, including this, is making me grin happily. Our boy'll come up good. #coughinterscopecough (I know I'm not the only one who's noticed that he seems to be pimpin a lot of interscope artists lately ) So. Frickin. Excited. for the future.

But what about that other label that seems to know how to push to get their artists into rotation on the radio. We were all lamenting that he was not with them. I forget the name. Oh Adam Haven't gotten to bed for five nights now! Dead tired but so fascinated! Interscope? Yes, Interscope. Why is UMG a better choice than Interscope? They seem so aggressive and effective. Of course I know from nothing but I remember the list going on and on about how they wished he was signed with Interscope.

Oh goodness. I know some will be ecstatic and predict all kinds of good reasons that it is wonderful news, but this news just gives me the pit in the stomach feeling. I guess drastic change like this scares me. Adam cannot realistically put out a successful next album without the financial support and clout of a major label behind him, can he? Don't be down... I think this is great news! He will be fine. And I really don't think his camp would have him leave RCA if something pretty tangible wasn't lined up - or can be lined up. He needs a label that "get's him. Look at it this way, Did RCA really make him a star... after the first year after Idol wore off. IMHO, Adam and the Glamberts did most of the heavy lifting, and DMG. I will however give credit for whomever was responsible for the international leg of Trespassing. I am sure RCA did do things, but they really don't get Adam, and he DOES need to move on - as a covers album was/is just a sad idea. I trust Adam, and glad he is doing what he thinks is right, and going to make NEW music. He has built up a real support network of industry peeps that I think would like to see him succeed - as do the Glamberts. It will all work out:-) Worst case is he does a Kickstarter and I think he could raise a really good chunk of change. Plus, him leaving RCA may even get him some new fans for having balls of steel, since this is HIS idea/doing and his camp has really handle this media event EXCELLENTLY, IMHO:-) WOW, gold stars to DMG et al. And for all the dissing the fandom gave Shirley, she really did have the inside track!

To think about this now. I think when Adam parted ways with 19R, he hasn't signed new contract with RCA. They still have his old Idol contract, but I bet they started the discussion about the 3rd album since that 19R news. And they couldn't come up with an agreement. Since they cannot agree with the direction, I bet, just like with Katy Perry, DMG asked RCA to let Adam walks away from the contract.

OH NO THEY DIDN'T @ohnotheydidnt Adam Lambert Says No to RCA Deal, Walks Away Over Creative Differences goo.gl/fb/Kzcii #americanidolfox Monday's news -- as reported by The Hollywood Reporter -- that American Idol season eight runner-up Adam Lambert was being asked by his label, RCA Records, to consider recording an all covers album elicited an impassioned response from the legions of Glamberts worldwide. And it wasn't a positive one. In what was a loud and fairly unanimous outcry, the rocker's fans took to social media, this site and popular American Idol debate destination MJs Big Blog to voice their distaste for the idea. The consensus for the most part being: that Lambert is an artist with his own musical vision who should be allowed to explore it to the fullest. Now, THR can report, Lambert will be doing just that. The singer is walking away from his RCA contract after two full length albums, 2012's Trespassing and 2009's For Your Entertainment, along with several EPs and a live collection -- all issued by the Sony Music label. Lambert revealed the news in a letter to THR, which follows in its entirety below. In it, Lambert notes "the oft-cited 'creative differences'" as they related to his next project, stating: "my heart is simply not in doing a covers album." To the contrary, Lambert adds that he's "deep into writing new material with some very talented colleagues," which will surely delight his audience of diehards. The "evolution" continues, he says. "This music is where my heart is." But it won't be at RCA, where a typical American Idol recording contract stipulates that the artist and the label be on the same page creatively. I'm confused. Can he just walk away? And who does Shoshanna work for? Shoshanna works for Outside Edge (PR Firm) who works for Sony Music. They also work for many artist directly but Adam is not on there client list. Adam is still listed on the RCA artist roster so this is very new and I really think was just done during that long NY trip. *** Well MySpenser50 and a few other called this. I still cannot believe RCA was that stupid. Even considering their limited vision, an 80's cover album was just stupid. But it would be cheap to produce, have no singles to promote, and was just a way to make a fast buck off Adam's existing fans and Idol fame.

Yes, Interscope. Why is UMG a better choice than Interscope? They seem so aggressive and effective. Of course I know from nothing but I remember the list going on and on about how they wished he was signed with Interscope. Interscope IS UMG just as RCA is SONY. American Idol is contracted with UMG but within UMG Interscope gets first dibs on the idols because that is Jimmy Iovine's label. Katy Perry is with Capital which was an EMI imprint but UMG has bought out EMI so Capital is now under UMG. It is hard to keep track of the alphabet soup and all the label names because there can be so many grouped under each major label group.
