Shoshanna works for Outside Edge (PR Firm) who works for Sony Music. They also work for many artist directly but Adam is not on there client list. Adam is still listed on the RCA artist roster so this is very new and I really think was just done during that long NY trip. *** Well MySpenser50 and a few other called this. I still cannot believe RCA was that stupid. Even considering their limited vision, an 80's cover album was just stupid. But it would be cheap to produce, have no singles to promote, and was just a way to make a fast buck off Adam's existing fans and Idol fame. You must have missed a part of the evolution. Shoshanna is now Edge Publicity which is her company and is no longer part of Outside Edge. Near as we can figure the Outside Edge thing was a temporary thing while getting her own company organized. Her artists all stayed with her when she transitioned to Edge Publicity. I believe that for record label related promotion Shoshona's company works for Outside Edge who works for Sony Music. For personal promotion and appearances not related to recorded music she work for Adam. I do not believe Shoshana has any direct relationship with Sony Music for PR. And anything related to FYE or Trespassing will remain with Sony Music/Outside Edge.

WOW this is crazy Is it possible that RCA forcing a "covers" album because 1. they didn't know what to do w him, or 2. forcing him out because they knew he wouldn't go for the 'covers' album, or 3. didn't believe in him and didn't care for his artistic direction?????????? I choose #1 and part of #3. They did not know what to do with Adam AND the did not thing his artistic direction was the right commercial path. If it was #2, they just had to drop him and not option the next album. So no need for games. They just give him notice. What we will never know is what really happened, but Adam has proven he to be very honest and open with fans and I take what he says as gospel truth. ** Clearly the timing was planned -- leak, fan reaction, GLEE big story === then announce departing because of creative differences, headed to do new exciting things, and has fan support. Beautifully played.

So, did Adam really "walk away" from RCA? Or did RCA "dump" him? I suspect yes to both. RCA didn't say "Adam, we won't do another record with you. We are letting you go." They said, "Adam, we want you to do a covers album. Do that, and we are fine. Refuse, or insist on other music, and we are through." Adam made the decision not to comply. He knew that this decision would result in RCA letting him go. So, he DID "walk away" from RCA. And the first few articles are framing it in that context, which is very good for Adam. Many of us have been asked by our employer to do something we thought was ethically wrong, or was counter to our beliefs and goals. We have been given the ultimatum to play ball or go home. Whether we decided to capitulate and try to make the best of it, or we decided to stand up for our beliefs and be let go, we know that it is a difficult decision, and we can applaud someone for standing firm on their principles. Adam and his management were brilliant on how and when they released this information/ Bravo to all. Well, except RCA. I read on IDF that referred to a comment on the pink place that said this is exactly what they did to David Cook. Forcing him to do covers knowing he wouldn't do it and leave. I just pray he has another good label in the wings. DC hasn't really done anything since he left his label.

Interesting that RCA Promo tweeted the GLEE story yesterday. Maybe a case of "Right hand, have you met left hand"? I am amazed at how well-played this was - Glee news followed by the label news. Puts everyone in the right frame of mind to view the future, and weakens the the naysayers position. I'm breathless with anticipation. :D Edit : Sorry for echoing you Q3. (grin) Also, I don't follow David Cook, so I don't know what "hasn't done much" encompasses; does Adam joining the cast of Glee negate that particular comparison? (I'm actually being serious here, no smiley.)

What I am happiest about is that Adam and DMG have managed to put the spin...'Adam walked' vs. 'Adam was dropped'.....Adam is in control of his creative destiny. This is brilliant. Go, press, go......

I am so very happy Adam is leaving RCA and feel a big sense of relief. RCA doesn't deserve him after the way they handled Trespassing. Good for him! Maintaining artistic integrity is so important. The future looks good.

I said when the possible 80's cover album news came out that such an album would be the end of his pop career. I've seen it happen before. And still this news leaves me stunned. I pray for the right, most perfect things to happen for our boy. Oh, they will, they will. After all, Adam Fucking Lambert will shine when he wants to shine. Life IS his light and liberty; he walks his walk like he won't give a fuck! Of course, we know he really does give a fuck. He cares so deeply and is so impassioned with his music, his imagination, his universal path, that I wonder if he can ever sleep - given that ideas and imagery, song and this visceral commitment to reality guide his every moment. I wish for you a restful night, Adam. Isn't this the best reality show, evah???!!! How could one script such a lush, everchanging scenario? How has this happened? Once, he feared success. Oh, the story! This unrecognized, untapped chorus boy believes in himself; but fears the excellence inside. Once upon a time, he was afraid of what would happen if he unleashed and exposed his explosive talent to the world. Ultimately, he was compelled to follow and recognize his passion. Yes, there were fits and starts; the world didn't know how to handle him. He took control, for he had to be true to himself. He is the desire of desires. If he were medicine; he would be cure we've longed for. If he were energy; he would harness the power of the sun. If he were water; he would satisfy the need of continents dying of thirst. If he was a saviour; thousands would seek him, just to feel his presence, breathe his air and hear his voice - and feel renewed, joyous; empowered with love and possibility for themselves and this world. He is regal, he is raw, he is a young man learning how to 'walk in boots'. He can bring himself to tears when he sings. I don't need to imagine what he does to us. To me. I'll be on my way, again, to another 'revival' in Paso Robles next week. If I had mashed potatoes, right now, I'd begin constructing a monument to 'A3'. We'll need one!

ca.music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/adam-lambert-refuses-covers-album-split-label-031436689.htmlAdam Lambert Refuses to Do Covers Album, Splits From LabelBy Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks It's been a busy week for Adam Lambert news here at Reality Rocks. First he reunited with his "Idol" streaker from Season 8; then he performed for AT&T's Live Proud event; then he announced that he'd joined the cast of "Glee." And now it has been revealed that he has parted ways with his label of four years, RCA Records. Although that last bit may seem like a jolt of glum Glambert news, a personal letter that Adam sent to The Hollywood Reporter indicates that this split is for the best. Last week, THR ran an article addressing rumors that Adam's third album for RCA might be a compilation of '80s covers, and a firestorm of Glambert debate ensued. Yes, the possibilities for awesomeness here were undeniable. Anyone who's heard Adam sing Tears For Fears' "Mad World" or Michael Jackson's "Black or White," or noted the funky new wave influences in his original songs like "Kickin' In" and "Cuckoo," knows that Adam does the '80s very well. I admit that I may have started a my own mental wishlist of possible songs for the disc (among then Duran Duran's "The Chauffeur" and Yaz's "In My Room"). But, still. At the end of the day, the majority of fans (myself included) were understandably concerned that recording an album entirely composed of covers, especially this early in his career, would damage Adam's credibility as an artist in his own right. Apparently this was a concern Adam had as well. So he has elected to leave RCA, as he explains in open letter to THR, published Friday. "I've had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA….That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited 'creative differences' as to what my next project will be," Adam wrote to the publication. "Your article was correct, the label is 'pushing for an (80's) covers album,' and feels that this is the only kind of release they are prepared to support. While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album…So after careful consideration, I have made the decision to respectfully part ways with RCA. My passion for the music & respect for the fans will always come first." Adam's full letter can be read at THR.com. Watch this space for more details for where Adam ends up, but I have a feeling that a megatalent who's been in demand by everyone from Brian May to Ryan Murphy won't be label-less for long.
