new label must certainly be international. sigh, always some excitement going on. funny that RCA Promo sent out some tweets this week- blech to them. They had their chance and blew it. I wonder if Shirley was the one contacted for the covers leak with the promise that she would get the exclusive letter from Adam. it's all too coincidental otherwise.

Q3...
You said a few days ago, that Adam had already gotten 50% of his advance for A3. Will that money have to be returned to RCA? How does that work?

I said when the possible 80's cover album news came out that such an album would be the end of his pop career. I've seen it happen before. And still this news leaves me stunned. I pray for the right, most perfect things to happen for our boy. Oh, they will, they will. After all, Adam Fucking Lambert will shine when he wants to shine. Life IS his light and liberty; he walks his walk like he won't give a fuck! Of course, we know he really does give a fuck. He cares so deeply and is so impassioned with his music, his imagination, his universal path, that I wonder if he can ever sleep - given that ideas and imagery, song and this visceral commitment to reality guide his every moment. I wish for you a restful night, Adam. Isn't this the best reality show, evah???!!! How could one script such a lush, everchanging scenario? How has this happened? Once, he feared success. Oh, the story! This unrecognized, untapped chorus boy believes in himself; but fears the excellence inside. Once upon a time, he was afraid of what would happen if he unleashed and exposed his explosive talent to the world. Ultimately, he was compelled to follow and recognize his passion. Yes, there were fits and starts; the world didn't know how to handle him. He took control, for he had to be true to himself. He is the desire of desires. If he were medicine; he would be cure we've longed for. If he were energy; he would harness the power of the sun. If he were water; he would satisfy the need of continents dying of thirst. If he was a saviour; thousands would seek him, just to feel his presence, breathe his air and hear his voice - and feel renewed, joyous; empowered with love and possibility for themselves and this world. He is regal, he is raw, he is a young man learning how to 'walk in boots'. He can bring himself to tears when he sings. I don't need to imagine what he does to us. To me. I'll be on my way, again, to another 'revival' in Paso Robles next week. If I had mashed potatoes, right now, I'd begin constructing a monument to 'A3'. We'll need one! Whoa!! As Simon said to Adam, I think you need to learn how to express yourself .....KIDDING!!!! This is one helluva post but then we expect that from one helluva woman. Love you!

Adam must have great attorneys as well to be allowed to be the one to break the news and have the upper hand. So RCA would have supported a third album if it was only 80s covers - ie, cheap, go in studio and record, won;t be on radio, existing fans will be the only ones that buy it, etc, etc,
Supporting Adam 100%

ca.music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/adam-lambert-refuses-covers-album-split-label-031436689.htmlAdam Lambert Refuses to Do Covers Album, Splits From LabelBy Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks It's been a busy week for Adam Lambert news here at Reality Rocks. First he reunited with his "Idol" streaker from Season 8; then he performed for AT&T's Live Proud event; then he announced that he'd joined the cast of "Glee." And now it has been revealed that he has parted ways with his label of four years, RCA Records. Although that last bit may seem like a jolt of glum Glambert news, a personal letter that Adam sent to The Hollywood Reporter indicates that this split is for the best. Last week, THR ran an article addressing rumors that Adam's third album for RCA might be a compilation of '80s covers, and a firestorm of Glambert debate ensued. Yes, the possibilities for awesomeness here were undeniable. Anyone who's heard Adam sing Tears For Fears' "Mad World" or Michael Jackson's "Black or White," or noted the funky new wave influences in his original songs like "Kickin' In" and "Cuckoo," knows that Adam does the '80s very well. I admit that I may have started a my own mental wishlist of possible songs for the disc (among then Duran Duran's "The Chauffeur" and Yaz's "In My Room"). But, still. At the end of the day, the majority of fans (myself included) were understandably concerned that recording an album entirely composed of covers, especially this early in his career, would damage Adam's credibility as an artist in his own right. Apparently this was a concern Adam had as well. So he has elected to leave RCA, as he explains in open letter to THR, published Friday. "I've had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA….That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited 'creative differences' as to what my next project will be," Adam wrote to the publication. "Your article was correct, the label is 'pushing for an (80's) covers album,' and feels that this is the only kind of release they are prepared to support. While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album…So after careful consideration, I have made the decision to respectfully part ways with RCA. My passion for the music & respect for the fans will always come first." Adam's full letter can be read at THR.com. Watch this space for more details for where Adam ends up, but I have a feeling that a megatalent who's been in demand by everyone from Brian May to Ryan Murphy won't be label-less for long. I am loving this fittingly fierce picture at this juncture. Looks like he just finished saying F**K you idiots!
