I am fascinated with the chess game.
So I want to ask you all what you think the sequence of events might have been. Here is a proposal:
1) RCA lays the cover trip on Adam and he is not happy about it.
2) Feelers go out on the possibility of jumping to another label
3) Positive response to the feelers
4) Somewhere in this scenario Glee gets finalized (could it possibly be without RCA knowing???)
5) Adam sees fan response to an album of covers and amazing press on Glee
6) Walks from RCA

Maybe Adam was just keeping Melvin so he could look more fierce and now that Glee is lined up, RCA is no longer his label and he is on to bigger and better things, he'll shave if we ask real nice. Sorry, just a bit of levity. I'm so excited for him and his new adventure. RCA was there when he needed them, let him do 2 great albums, executive produce one, but they dropped the ball on what songs from the fabulous TRESPASSING to release. All forgivable, but the 80s covers, when Adam did not want to be forced into that box, definitely demanded a parting of the ways. He really does have balls of steel. A role model for the the strong hearted. True. Except I am not forgiving them for the TP singles and the lack of promo. Me either. I was going to unfollow RCAPromo but I discovered that I never had followed them. I considered following them just so I could unfollow them but it seemed a little unnecessary. |

Do you guys remember this photo?! I posted it July 8th . I told you to remember this picture and in a week or so you would know what it meant? OK, this is Alex da Kid. He has a new label that is part of Interscope as of 2011. I will bet everything I have that Adam will announce this is his new label, next week. THIS is why Shosh is coming to LA. This is the HUGE news! INTERSCOPE!!! GUYS, INTERSCOPE!!!!!!!

theosgma - "we" sound so powerful in your scenario. I do agree with whoever posted above though that it seems like TP would have sold more just based on the fanbase.

I've written before about "super fans." With 10,000 super fans who support him financially by buying new products and telling others about him, a creative person can have quite a nice life. Adam has way more than 10,000. Glee will get him even MORE. He can do a LOT with the amount of money he can raise with Kickstarter, etc. He is on the leading edge of this revolution in the way that things are done in the creative arts business. Here we go!!!!!!!! YEP! Here we go:-) He has our support and I think he knows it which makes him stronger for making this decision which can't be easy... |

I suggest do not go there, especially right now with the "Walks Away" thread. Coz there are some peeps that only posted few times of Glee thread (over 550 posts) and now they're all over the "Walks Away" thread and trying to spin the story the other way. I couldn't wait for another announcement from Adam's new label and hopefully another major label.. so these people can just be quite. |
