I am fascinated with the chess game. So I want to ask you all what you think the sequence of events might have been. Here is a proposal: 1) RCA lays the cover trip on Adam and he is not happy about it. 2) Feelers go out on the possibility of jumping to another label 3) Positive response to the feelers 4) Somewhere in this scenario Glee gets finalized (could it possibly be without RCA knowing???) 5) Adam sees fan response to an album of covers and amazing press on Glee 6) Walks from RCA I'm more of the belief that this parting of the ways has been discussed and negotiated and even finalized before the Shirley article on the 80s cover album. Things just don't move that fast in business. Adam would have to make the decision in collaboration with his management which would include discussion on how to release the info, when, with what spin, and to whom. Adam would almost certainly run the letter past his management, if for nothing more than spell check! I also think that Adam would not make this decision based on the fan response to the cover concept. Yes, he cares very much what his fans think. But, ultimately, it is about his artistic vision and what kind of music he wants to make. It is possible that the decision had been made but they decided to go public with it now rather than later after seeing the fan reaction and feeling they needed to respond to it. Who knows.

I hope that Adam is seeing that things are moving in a positive direction. If so, I am a hoping that he can "walk away" from Melvin. I have a creative difference issue with Melvin. LOL, let me underscore this...

Good points Cassie. Do you think Adam walked without knowing there was another label waiting for him? Do you think that RCA did not know about Glee? I am really curious about these two questions.

Gelly @14gelly 10m Adam Lambert & RCA Records Part Ways www.justjared.com/2013/07/12/adam-lambert-rca-records-part-ways/ … via @justjared Adam Lambert has decided to part ways with his record label RCA Records after making two full length albums under the label, according to THR. “I’ve had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA; I admire all of them a great deal, and truly appreciate the energy & enthusiasm that went into making both “Trespassing” & “For Your Entertainment” successes,” the 31-year-old entertainer shared. He added, “That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited “creative differences” as to what my next project will be.” “So after careful consideration, I have made the decision to respectfully part ways with RCA. My passion for the music & respect for the fans will always come first. I am excited to find a new label team who shares this vision,” Adam said.
