I kind of agree with you here. He left RCA because he refuses to do covers, then his first big televised performance is a bunch of covers?? I don't get it. I don't watch Glee, but it feels like a big difference between singing covers on a major show that is (almost) all about covers, versus putting out an album under your own name that is only covers. I wasn't referring to Glee, that is a paid job and covers are expected. I was referring to I Heart Radio and a possible performance with Queen. It's a radio promotion concert (and according to Q3 geared towards CHR radio at that) and he would be singing covers of 70's/80's tunes which doesn't seem like it would help promote Adam as a current solo artist to radio at all. |

I don't watch Glee, but it feels like a big difference between singing covers on a major show that is (almost) all about covers, versus putting out an album under your own name that is only covers. Not Glee! The "fronting Queen at a radio concert" thing Oh. But that's a one-time performance, not something I can purchase and keep at home! Honestly, not knowing much about media and not living the USA means I have absolutely NO measure of the significance of the radio concert. To me, it mostly just registers as a "concert".
Edit : I should add that the radio concert also feels like a "not under his name" thing. Pretty unrelated to him not putting out a covers album as his 3rd album. About exposing him to the correct or wider demographic, I can't comment (knowing nothing). |
