melliemom, Adam doesn't have 1/10th the clout that an artist like Prince has. If he doesn't have a big label behind him (and I think he does, so don't worry) radio play will be even harder than last time. Maybe in 10 years your dream can be a reality, but for right now, it'd be a catastophe. And Adam never said anything about wanting to be "indie" anyway. He is a smart business man and knows the way the business works.

Just like he knew he had to join Idol to get a recording contract, he also knows that he needs a label who wants to get behind him to get radio play.

The pre sale was for clear channel employees and it sold out very quickly as well. There were very few tickets in the CC employee presale, too. 16,800 tickets sounds like a lot until you start to allocate VIPs to MGM, Sponsors, Press, Artists allocation, CC Employees, Label execs, Radio station promos, iHeartRadio contest, and actually sell some. They do a free, high-quality stream and the TV Program. I can live with that. I seem to recall that the stream was a video stream, is this correct? Does it stream on the iheartradio website? Is there a way I can get this to stream onto my TV with my surround sound, does anyone know? I have Apple TV and can stream youtube videos but they never seem to make it to all my speakers :( If anyone knows anything, greatly appreciated!

554 is really a small amount of tickets spread across the entire country. How big a venue is the MGM Grand? At least it will be streamed and later televised. Looks like they have more stations than tickets to win. From Wiki: iHeartRadio is an Internet radio platform owned by Clear Channel Broadcasting, Inc. Founded in April 2008 as the website iheartmusic.com, iHeartRadio now functions as both a music recommender system and a radio network that aggregates content from over 800 local Clear Channel radio stations across the United States, as well as hundreds of stations owned by companies other than Clear Channel There are two separate contests --- iHeartRadio -- this is a twitter contest. Radio Station Promos -- this is the text contests. ETA: Yes, post the clues in the clue thread it would be great. Then we will have them all together. ETA #2: Regarding Adam not doing news that wasn't his to tell -- he did a clue for Glee and that was Ryan's news to tell. The text contests are only through radio stations that are part of the iheartradio group - and there are links to the radio stations on the iheartradio web page. I believe the twitter contest was only offered on Saturday until 4 pm est and is over, unless they do another one. Does anyone know? I believe an Adam fan won this on Saturday as per twitter as I recall.

Hmmm, I wonder if the MGM arena is hiring -- I could use a part-time job, let's see, Section A security let's say for Sep 20th and then, let's say, after a few acts, I get disillusioned and walk off the job. It could work.

It could work. I tried that. I have a friend working for them and working that show. I tried to sub for someone. No dice so far.

Adam needs a major label behind him now. Without that, nothing happens - nothing good anyway.
