Re Nicky Arnstein, I agree. In fact, I mentioned it the day I joined here! And for what it's worth, I love Adam's Melvin. Yes, I remember your post! I thought it, rejected it, but I keep coming back to it. He really would be great as Nicky. Yay! He really would. And Lea would get her wish granted, singing with Adam. |

I can't stand the mustache.. He looks like a porn star especially at the LOVELACE thing.. Come on ADAM where is that gorgeous clean face. I love ADAM,but I find myself turning away from photos with the stache.. ENOUGH already just saying .. don't hate on me .. for my looks barometer. I miss my ADAM , I totally understand you! I don't like Adam's look at the moment either and it's hard for me to look at the new pics.  I miss the "Glamrockgod" that I fell in love with three and a half years ago!  |

To me, generally, Adam's facial hair makes him look more intense, mature, and mysterious. I think it looks fantastic. Without it, generally, I think he looks more sweet, open, and younger.. I like to ponder over why he might be enjoying this particular look right now, whether it's 'cuz of however he is feeling or if it is for his glee part. Or if he just wants to because - he wants to. His face is so amazing, most of the time my thought really is just, " Wow." Six of one, half a dozen of another. Same with his hair. However he wears it, I pretty much just marvel at it. I love when he does the red carpet stuff because he totally gives the photographers the model looks and poses but at the same time is so accommodating, friendly, kind of tongue-in-cheek and non-egotistical about it all. I think he just wants to keep this current looks because he wants to. That's our Adam, he will do whatever he likes/wants to do. Don't care what people said about it. There's one time that some fans voicing their objection of him getting more tattoo. What did Adam do?? He gets more and more tattoos. People complaining about his facial hair?? He keeps it longer. He likes to change up his looks. If he decides he wants to shave it clean, he will do it in his own time. Maybe he decides he will keep it until he can announce his new label. Who knows?! In case anyone has forgotten, "Funny Girl" is about Fanny Brice. It was Barbara Streisand's show on Broadway, and Barbara Streisand's movie.
The role of Nickie Arnstein is ancillary, particularly in terms of singing. If I remember correctly, the male lead has two duets with Fanny, and no solos.
I hope no one jumps on me if I say Adam has Nickie Arnstein would be a waste.

I cannot remember the Nicky Arnstein character singing ANY songs in Funny Girl? Did he? They wouldn't have Adam play a character who doesn't sing, would they?

But I doubt he would be restricted to simply being Nickie Arnstein....he would be the actor who is playing Nickie Arnstein but becomes a friend and ?? of Lea....he would be singing as the actor, not as Nickie...:-) ... if he were Nickie.... |

There are few things I ever feel certain about but I am very certain Adam was hired for Glee so that he can sing on Glee.
If he were "Nicky," though, he would really be the playing the actor who would be playing "Nicky," wouldn't he? So, just like Lea wouldn't only sing "Fanny" songs, if the story is that she gets the part, Adam too could sing any song that was related to the episode's story/theme. Does that sound right?
