I do not understand people who say they are Adam's fans and yet criticize his personal choices for how he presents himself - we do not get to tell him whether he has a beard or not. Along with this, there is also so much criticism regarding his career choices. Goodness, cut the guy some slack, or go find someone who meets your standards and be their fan. I'm sure this will get some people riled up, but reading all this carping when I just want to find out what he's doing and see some pics, is off-putting to me...surely I'm not the only one. You're not the only one. The beard isn't my preference, but Adam looked like old Hollywood glamour tonight, much more attractive than Clark Gable. I don't get all the carping. What's the point? It's his face, plus he may need it for his role on Glee. I understand wanting Melvin gone, as I feel the same, but describing his face as dirty and him looking like a porn star is unfortunate. Adam was invited to the red carpet and probably got paid a nice sum, which more than paid for some of his expensive clothing he's bought lately. The movie has a great cast, so I'm not judging that either, til I see it.
Btw, I have screencaps and GIFS here and he's gorgeous: lilybop2012.blogspot.com/2013/08/gifs-screencaps-adam-lambert-at.htmlThe The Mississippi Mass Choir, who met Adam Aug 4, is based in Jackson, Miss. They may have been in NYC for a limited time, and Adam may have needed to meet for them for GLEE. Perhaps they will sing in Cory's episode 3, at Finn's Memorial. Just speculating. Adam might be singing with them, who knows. He had time to fly back to LA to go to the premiere tonight, so I don't think all the sightings of him in NYC were red herrings.

Thanks. I didn't notice the LA location on their twitter. I'm surprised those sightings didn't happen!

I do not "say" I am a fan. I am a fan. I have more copies of Trespassing than I will ever be able to play! But I don't think it is right for anyone here to question whether I love Adam. I do. All of us have our own preferences. Songs we like. Looks we like. If we can't express ourselves here, why even have a "forum". Part of being a community is to be able to freely exchange ideas and opinions. I agree .. if fans can't say how they feel, who will. There are differing points of view on Adamtopia on the stache. I think Adam trusts us and appreciates us and expects fans to voice our opinions. As he said without his fans where would he be. Of course It's his face, his life and his choice, and he'll do what he does. To add He seemed to appreciate many of our feelings about RCA. IMHO we need to give Adam time in regards to a label or no label...Adam is in the midst of the big music world with all It's ups and downs, with money rules all attitude & with being gay in a recording business that seems bigoted,.. He has a lot to figure out.. Idol is very much in the rear mirror. Adam has the fans, has the fame, but is in a world that eats their young, squeezes you dry & looks for the next hot thing.. well you get the point... Show business is not for the faint of heart.. still all in all, Please Adam where ever you go and whatever you do ,do it without the stache.. You are too gorgeous to be covering up all that handsomeness.. just saying

[smiles] We're just chit-chatting among ourselves. No one is going up to Adam himself and shouting "Shave dammit, SHAVE !!!!!!" In the same way its ok to talk about his latest outfit, its ok to talk about his hair. Open discussion is something we do on this board, and it is the reason that the board is set up in the manner it exists. [Puts on mod hat for a moment] No one is here who isn't a fan of Adam. Different people like different things, and that's totally ok. But, knowing that everyone here has slightly different tastes, its one of the reasons that we recommend scrolling if the current topic isn't your cuppa. [grins] Like Adam's outfits, the topic will change again soon, and there will ALWAYS be pics! [takes off mod hat to dive back into discussions] Yes, open discussion is something done on this board and I expressed my opinion, just as everyone else does. Is that policy just for some? One other thing I think of when reading negativity is how different that is from Adam's positive outlook and how he might feel reading the criticism. I'm done now -- no more opinions. ;-)

Everyone is free to express opinions respectfully and not in a way that is "speaking for others" Very dark opinions have a place of their own in a separate thread called the Dark Side.

At one point many years ago Adam made a comment about fans reaction to his facial hair. I wish I knew how to search for it. But, it was (I think) around the time of Drake and they were in New Orleans. His comments were along the lines of sometimes it's just nice not to have to shave -- that it was a guy thing. Personally, I like his 'tashe look most of the time whereas I liked his clean shaven look all of the time -- even Frankengump! (Except not Frankengump in the blue suit.)
I've started watching past episodes of Glee -- the things I do for Adam.

Re Nicky Arnstein, I agree. In fact, I mentioned it the day I joined here! And for what it's worth, I love Adam's Melvin. Yes, I remember your post! I thought it, rejected it, but I keep coming back to it. He really would be great as Nicky. I wonder if the new character Roderick Easton, theatrical, talented, egotistical, plays an actor who is playing Nicky in Funny Girl? I thought that might be the character Adam would be playing, even though a little too old for him.

One other thing I think of when reading negativity is how different that is from Adam's positive outlook and how he might feel reading the criticism. I'm done now -- no more opinions. ;-) As a mod I tried to respond to marchhare, but it appears that she has quit the forum. That is regrettable, but perhaps she will read as a guest. And perhaps others are confused why Hoppers put on her mod hat about marchhare's post. Yes, Adamtopia is a lively place where diverse opinions are not only allowed, but encouraged, provided they are respectfully stated and follow the guidelines. There was a sentence in marchhare's post that raised my mod instinct because it was phrased in a way that appeared to violate rule #4: "Never question anyone's right to post, the appropriateness of a topic or define the proper way for an Adam fan or Adamtopia Member to behave." She remarked, "Goodness, cut the guy some slack, or go find someone who meets your standards and be their fan." To me, this is telling other fans how to behave properly. It was probably not intended to sound that way; just an expression of her frustration. Hoppers mod comment was not meant to be a put down, but just a gentle reminder to all about our guidelines. No one likes to be misunderstood. And, no one likes to be modded. But, hey, it has probably happened to most members who post at ATop. Perhaps it would help if members would view mods like friendly "editors" whose (voluntary) job it is to make sure what is written follows the forum's published guidelines in order for ATop to be the premiere Adam fan site and a safe, positive place for all readers. If you are about to post something that you think just might step over the boundaries of our guidelines, how about composing it and sending it off to a mod who is online at the time? (You can identify what mods are online by scrolling down to the bottom of the home page.) We'd be happy to "proofread" it for you. If your post ends up with a mod comment and you do not understand why, please PM the mods and we will try to clarify. Finally, if you see a post that you think goes against our guidelines, instead of commenting on the forum, please report it to the mods, and we will investigate. Adamtopia is a special place with wonderful members. We appreciate you all as strong Adam fans and gracious, intelligent, funny, fascinating people.
