I absolutely REFUSE to quote your post of the other Adam, Holst. Not even to get to 10 pages. Not even to get to 2 pages. One cannot un-see what has been seen. Why would you do that to me? I may be traumatized for weeks. I thought we were friends. Friends don't make friends gag and throw up in their mouths a little. Ewwwwwwwwwwww. There! We are still not quite even, but hopefully you now understand how shocking and upsetting some images can be.

So true. Maybe she hasn't noticed Gaga's or Rhianna's performances or videos. Or maybe Miley's was the straw that broke the camel's back for her. Wonder if she remembers early Madonna. As for those who love Freddie or any past performer, IMO, the legend always looms larger than life. I think it is a good thing that Adam is being compared favorably with this legendary performer. At least the legitimate reviewers aren't saying that Adam sucked. heh. Honestly I don't think Freddie Mercury was a good singer I don't like his voice so when they say "he is no Freddie Mercury" I see it as a compliment. LOL.. Freddie was not a good singer?? And yet for decades NOT MANY people can sing Queen songs and to do them justice. WHY??? Because Queen catalogues are NOT easy to sing. Adam who has the same vocal range as Freddie is one of a few singers who can do it. Freddie's not a trained vocalist but he's famous for his voice, imagined if he was also got those voice lessons. I say the same thing about Adam, not many people can sing Adam's songs, because the songs are made for his vocal range.

Sex and Music have gone together forever. But there is something very different about what Miley is doing. Madonna, Adam, Robert Plant, Jim Morrison, many many performers before them, integrated sexual expression with their performance. Miley just took off her clothes and sticks out her tongue and licks things. There is no context for this except to be an exhibitionist and attract attention. Makes me sad, because it works. Sinead O'Connor , Annie Lennox - I think their opinion has merit, but I would be curious to know what Madonna has to say about Miley's MV. Miley succeeded in being controversial to be noticed . Same way Madonna did . They sold their music. When Adam did at AMA's , controversial yes. But did not help sell his music. ( I am not saying he did it on purpose) So did they sell their music ( Miley and Madonna) because they called attention to it via controversy ? Or is what they are selling - their music - just that good that controversy simply pushed sales up and multiplied the numbers ? By the way - I finally figured how to vote. Dummy me.Wrecking Ball is Miley's biggest selling and highest charting song to date. And in 3.5 weeks her Wrecking Ball video has 193,682,422 views. In comparison, in 6 months the main version of Blurred Lines has 189,471,323 views and the explicit version (where the girls are prancing around wearing ONLY nude colored thongs with alot more showing than in Wrecking Ball) has 45,905,367 views. And Katy Perry's Roar has 109,062,246 views in 1 month and Lady Gaga's Applause (which has some short sections showing just as much skin as Miley) has 69,953,301 views in 1 month. And of course Miley is doing this to increase her sells. She has been stuck in the Hanna Montana cast typing and needed to break out of it. And this was a quick and effective way of doing that. While some would say that she should just rely on her talent, that it should be enough, we all know from Adam's difficulty in getting US radio play and sales that unfortunately, talent is not usually enough. I may be a minority of 1 here, but I really like the Wrecking Ball video and think the nudity is done in an artistic manner that helps bring across the raw emotion of breaking up with a lover. In contrast, I don't like either of the Blurred Lines videos. But, as someone mentioned upthread, it is mostly because of the lyrics which I find far more offensive than any nudity. I also really like the Wrecking Ball song and both Miley's and Eli's performance of the song. It was my favorite performance on Saturday at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Of course WWTLF was my favorite performance on Friday!!!

Honestly I don't think Freddie Mercury was a good singer I don't like his voice so when they say "he is no Freddie Mercury" I see it as a compliment. I have no idea what you on basing this assessment on. I was lucky enough to see Queen live in the 70's. I recommend you check out any Freddie performance from the 70's -- there are some old fan videos that were shot on 16mm. By 1981 he was having severe vocal issues -- and most of the "famous" videos are from after 1980. Freddie from 1981: And, no people are not exaggerating when they say he was great. Plus he wrote a song or two! Ohh.. and he composed a song or two
