S*&@^#r and Q3 Kind of trivial on my part...and .....Hate to get too defensive here.....but....here I go..... I said ....Where is MY Energy...not Adam's. He was certainly on the move and grooving ( very adeptly...haha). Like I said...my feelings may have been different re the quality ....if I had been there (ie. part of the action). (I have appreciated learning there were some detected issues.) I was agreeing with seoulmate!  Some new songs may have " breathed some life" into the concert for ME, knowing it was not a choreographed tour concert....Adam could have done whatever he pleased. ...I would have gone cross-eyed watching and re-watching a new track, whether the sound quality was good or bad! I misunderstood your post. I though you meant "my" as in where is "my" Adam, or where is "my" love, etc. Sorry. ** I think that having fun live at a concert like this is much easier than watching videos. BUT I really think that there are some bits of his improv that are worth listening to no matter how many Adam videos you have seen. a bit here and there mixed with his laugh is priceless. |

The band, on the other hand, was not well rehearsed and could not figure out what the fuck Adam was up to. Brian picked up on Adam's improv a bit at one point but mostly they were like a zombie band. Perhaps, I am spoiled by seeing Adam with Queen -- a tight band and with Brian May on lead guitar.
ETA: And Adam did change up a lot of things for this concert -- seemly on the fly. Music Again and most of the songs with strong backing tapes worked well. The songs where the band was the primary music were not as good. The sound level of the backing tapes were good were I was -- both of the main videographers who have posted so far were recorded directly in front of speakers -- hence the f'ed up sound. This was one of those concerts where being up front was great for being near Adam but was not apparently the place to be for good audio.ITA I think my frustration was I was with a virgin and I so wanted her to hear the clarity of that beautiful voice live. She had cut her teeth on the London videos so everything Q3 said above really factored in for us. She was also rudely shoved by fans fighting to have a place right behind the VIP section. I mean rudely shoved and I thought she might just walk out. Happy ending though is she is trying again at Biloxi!! I sure as hell hope they have some decent rehearsal time and sound tighter. I am in the camp of just sing Adam - acoustic, unaccompanied, riffs, runs, scat, laugh, talk - whatever the hell you want. Just want to hear that voice When I am near these pushy fans, I just turn around tell them quietly but forcefully that if they touch me at all I will call security and have them removed from the venue. If the push me after that, I give them one warning then find a security guy. No one was acting like that near me -- and I was 4 rows behind the VIP section. So, next time I recommend just stepping back a bit. I found this out in Nokia NY. Night 1 I was close and it was just OK. Night 2, I flew back in just in time for Adam and was in the middle and it was glorious. Since then I have looked for a place with people who were there to have fun and with great sound when I am GA. And I avoid the rabid "Glamberts" who have to be too close. |
