I know some people have issues with Tommy, but I think Brian and Rick are far bigger problems. The drummer is sometimes called the pilot of the band, establishing the sonic foundation. As others have noted, Rick just isn't very good. And Brian, to my mind, is a bigger problem. He is responsible for arranging the songs so that they work live and I don't think he's done a very good job at that. I don't doubt he is a good band member but he's not a good MD imo - ymmv.
One a kind of related note, some might be interested in 'Artifact' (released this week), Jared Leto's documentary on the fight 30 Seconds to Mars had with its label EMI-it also addresses the change in the music industry (in a really simplified way but the interviews with musicians and execs are great) and is also an interesting look at the creative process as the band makes its next album with no label and no certainty they'll be able to release it. (OT: And if you haven't seen 'Dallas Buyers Club' - go, Matt McConaughey's performance is stunning and Jared is amazing as well.)

IMHO Adam needs a great guitarist and very upbeat musicians.. This band seems to be dragging ... I loved the woman Pianist.. thought she was great. I can't remember her name. There were so many good musicians who came and went. Miss them .. This band just doesn't have that umph. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wOAj4h2broThank you melliemom! Absolutely divine! I told to my sons that I want to hear this in my funeral. No one can sing so heavenly like Adam

Her musical director has been with her since she came off Idol and he makes sure she has top notch musicians with her. That is the key for Adam IMO, getting a musical director with the power to hire the right musicians for Adam. The issue isn't power. It's about money -- generally speaking, you can get the best if you are willing to pay for them. We have no idea what Adam's budget is, but I'm guessing it's smaller than Kelly's. Also, Brian London is no slouch -- he has worked with Rihannna, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry, so I imagine he has connections. But there are other considerations in selecting band members. It's also about what Adam is looking for and values in band members. In addition to talent, Adam also seems to value finding band mates with an approach to music similar to his (which makes sense); he also values personality -- the person's attitude, are they easy to get along with, etc. -- and their "look". These were things Adam mentioned when he was putting together the band for the Glam Nation tour. I also imagine that Adam values loyalty -- he appears to be a very loyal person and values those who are loyal to him. So unless something radical happens or one of his current band members chooses to move on, I expect we will be seeing them for a while. I have same thoughts. Adam seems to be a very loyal person I remember one interview concerning Queen and Adam Lambert relationship. Dr Brian May said it is very important that the members of the band get along and have same kind of ideas. Also he said that Adam matches very well with Queen and their music.

I don't think we should assume at all that the current band will be back for A3. Tommy is the only one left from GlamNation. New era, new music to learn, new gigs. It will change.

craazyforadam - everything you said about Rick Jordan. He seems like a nice guy, but the man has a lead foot and no finesse and for me, it has become a distraction and I sometimes find it difficult to listen to the videos which makes me sad. It has been like this for me from the beginning but I normally just keep it to myself and hope RJ will improve. No luck so far. As I remember, he was an emergency fill-in and friend of Brian's after the Swiss guy had his visa problems. The drummer for MTN is so much better and I can and have listened to that song over and over.

Thank you for the nice words seoulmate. Actually, I'm a very lucky girl - I've already seen Adam perform live, just not at a concert with his own songs from Trespassing and FYE albums. I saw him at the Life Ball in Vienna this year and I was at QueenBert concert in London last year. And seeing/hearing Adam at both of the events was mind-blowing! The best days of my life! I know how incredible can Adam be performing live. And I hope to hear those amazing songs from Trespassing FYE and *fingers crossed* the new album Adam's working on, live, having Adam on stage in front of me. omg!! Well, when it comes to seeing Adam perform live, you're doing way better than me!! Oh,I hope you was able to attend at least one Adam's koncert live Seoulmate. They rehearsed for 2 hours early Saturday afternoon in a second floor ballroom. I heard them. Adam was there. With Adam's schedule they probably have not had much/any other rehearsal. I do think there were issues from a lack of rehearsals. Thank you for the info about the soundcheck Q3. I couldn't find any news about it and wasn't sure if there was a soundcheck or not. craazyforadam - everything you said about Rick Jordan. Alas, I don't think he is a good drummer)

Yes, he did. I talked to him after the show and he did not know why it was out of tune. He was more puzzled why they did not stop to give Tommy time to tune his guitar. Here's a very technical article that might help answer that question: www.endino.com/archive/tuningnightmares.htmlPlus, the change in climate, higher humidity & heat in Miami, might have something to do with it. This is an awesome technical article, that frankly explains even problems I've had tuning orchestral stringed instruments. Thank you very much for posting it. I think it may actually change the way I handle my current electronic tuners as I've been banging my head over sharp "attacked" versus midrange tuned notes.
