It's funny -- but I also have my own special digital Trespassing album -- and I also left out two tracks that do not belong on that album -- the RCA mandated tracks NCOE and BTIKM. But I put on Runnin' 2 times. I also have a special FYE album where some of the album tracks are replaced with Acoustic versions -- like Aftermath. I really like my versions a lot. BTIKM is a great song (but I too have a NCOE vendetta)!!!! I have Love Wins Over Glamour in between Kickin In' - Naked Love, and Hold On between Chokehold - Outlaws of Love in mine. And By the Rules moved forward between BTIKM - Broken English, Map switched with Nirvana. Flows really well imo try it out you crazy kids!!

There is room for lots of different audiences and lots of different tastes in music. Not everyone has to be measured against the Katy Perry audience, and by the way, neither are her concerts only full of 15 year olds, nor is every 15 year old into Katy Perry.
Classic rock has for the most part become just that. Classic. From the past. In those pockets, where it still gets to have an additional lease on life, it seems to attract an audience of all ages. Just like Adam does on his own as well.
I refuse to measure all music along that one dimension of top40 success alone. While that ranking gets a lot of press and a lot of attention, its shelf life is limited. Adam is at home in many parts of the music business. I realize he would like to have that big hit on radio, and has not so far, but there are many other ways to have a big music career.
Adam is trucking along just fine, imo. If he can continue on the present trajectory, he will be a huge star, and will be so in a very different way than the pop princesses are. There is not only one way to Rome, there are many. And Queen may well be on his path. So is Nile and Chic and so may be SPWs, and other bands. It's all good, imo.

If it is true confessions time, I will admit. I have the Deluxe UK CD of Trespassing, but I listen to everything on my iPod. And, when I loaded TP onto it, for some unfathomable reason, both NCOE and BTIKM didn't transfer over. Or, to be more accurate, I "accidentally" deleted those tracks from my iPod, and just have never gotten around to adding them back into the rotation. *** I have followed Queen closely for a long time -- and I think it is very, very unlikely that Brian and Roger will do an extensive tour -- my bet is a few concerts -- like five. And I think there is very little chance that Adam will tour with Queen, but he might do a few special shows -- a mini tour. Regarding Adam's management -- Adam is a very self-directed artist. He is not someone's puppet. DMG and Edge have done a great job working for him, his lawyers have done an even better job -- and they all work for Adam, not the other way around. IMHO Adam and his management team are right on track, he is separated from 19 Recordings and RCA, he has built strong support in the gay community (something he did not have in 2009), he is building credibility as an actor and TV performer, he did iHR Music Festival which is the biggest Clear Channel Radio event of the year, and most importantly, he seems to be evolving as an artist. I expect big things for Adam in 2014. And I think we have some surprises coming. ETA: I just realized I wrote "He is not someone's puppet." And there is a puppet windmill GIF in the thread. I just should have used that!! He controls puppets! I think DMG and Edge have done a good job but not prepared to say great yet. So far removing Adam from all things Idol is the first step. I think DMG not being on board from the very beginning of TPS and 19R still in mix I'm giving them the benefit of doubt that their hands were still somewhat tied. 19R has a lot of say when it comes to Idols albums. I heart and Glee were good opportunities but I follow enough popstars and their promos to know what many more opportunities are out there. DMG is still missing the boat with some things. 2014 should be interesting because we will see how great DMG really is. If they can convince Adam to get a new band than I will say they mean serious business.

I'm sorry. I don't want a Queen tour. I get some fans want it because it's their era and music and I believe deep, deep down inside they don't believe he will do better. I want Adam and his music. I want him to stand on his own and make a name for himself with his music. He's did the EMA. 6 gigs and Iheart. How much more Queen we need. It will only cement people like Howard Stern who said "This is what Adam needs to do". Really? The more he continues to tie himself with Queen the harder it will be for the industry to see him otherwise. His management needs to start getting serious. And you know his management is NOT serious, how??? Sorry, I get you don't want Queen, but it's quite speculative IMO to think that we know what Adam, his management and his publicist are up to for 2014. I'm not reading all this hoopla from Shoshanna, seeing Adam excited and not imagining that 2014 will, indeed, be a busy year for Adam. Queen maybe being a small part of that. Glee is even a short gig. Something's up. <<< It should be a "Yeah That" smiley

That was sobering, Daenerys. The more he continues to tie himself with Queen the harder it will be for the industry to see him otherwise. His management needs to start getting serious. I agree with some of this. While I think a handful of Q+AL concerts would be sensational and great publicity for Adam, the thought of a TOUR absolutely fills me with dismay. Because I think the most critical thing Adam needs right now is a record label behind him and to be creating his music, not singing someone else's. But 1-5 North American Queenbert shows would be special. The more they do, the less special it is, IMO. Anyway, I believe with all my heart that whatever big things Adam is anticipating for 2014, playing with Queen is one of them, but NOT the biggest thing. I like that we all can have different opinions on what we want nd don't want. Because in the end what we want has no impact on what Adam actually does...unless one of us here is a member of Adams circle and not sharing that, lol!!!

Coming out of lurking to say I thought I read that Queen said with or without Adam there would be a tour. Guest stars are the occasional special gig a full tour is just hired help. I'm confused why people are so sure there will be an Queen/Adam tour and why would they even want that. 2-3 special gigs is OK but a tour?. Brian is going on tour in Feb with Kerry Ellis and we don't know for how long. Kerry Ellis @kerryjaneellis1 10 Dec Great day rehearsing with @drbrianmay for our tour in feb ! Have you got your tks yet ?! If there will be a Queenbert tour it would be sometime after March which is suppose to be Adam's time. Either way having a tour at all is once again right in the middle of another album era. I really believe the reason why we had a tour the first time was because Adam and his people already knew there would be no album support for TSP. I think they took the opportunity for $$$. It can't be for exposure because from a marketing point fronting a 40yr band performing old songs isn't going to do anything for Adam's actual career. If there will be a Queen tour than I would have to believe that they know Adam's US audience. No management in their right mind would have their popstar tour with a band that doesn't expose him to a more current audience unless they think that is the best they got. Cover album? heh. Those glee fans aren't going to run out and buy Queen tickets. Not. going. to. happen. which leads be to say why even do it. Shoshanna is Adam's publicist so it's her job to say good things are coming and in Shoshanna's world that doesn't give me much confidence. Also Adam says every year that the next will rock. My worst fear is the big 2014 news for Adam is going to be Queen tour. Can you tell I'm not as enthusiastic for Adam/Queen. Waste of time. You make a lot of interesting points. Would the 15-21 year Glee crowd be interested in Queen songs? I don't know. There were a decent number teenagers over at Hammersmith, but seemed mostly part of families. It may truly be that the pop crowd and the rock crowd are inherently distinct. However, I think there would be at least some overlap. Enough to make a Katy-Perry type audience? I just don't know. Now it is completely valid to worry that Queen touring could eat away at Adam's solo promotions/touring. And that while (IMO) a Queen tour would be AWESOME, it wouldn't be the same as a kick-ass A3. Can the two things occur in the same year without detracting from each other? I don't know that either. But I sure can hope. It's kind of hard for me to explain without upsetting Queenbert fans. I love Queen, I have all their catalogs. I have over 25,000 albums. I listen to everything from showtunes, Opera, underground, latin, Soca, Reggae, country, pop, rock. Music from the 40s through now. You name it. I'm a bonafide music lover of all genres. I'm not just a pop listener. I'm an Adam fan so I'm here for his music. If Adam was an A list superstar Queenbert wouldn't be a big issue for me. Right now it still feels like "he's not yet a superstar in his won right so let's hook him up with Queen to make him legit". I bet if Adam's own career was through the roof no one would be asking for Queenbert when you can get Adam full blown own tour. If era 3 blows up and takes Adam to that next level I'll be OK with Queen sometime in the far future after I see him all over my TV in 2014-15 collecting all his awards

I have LWOG on my Adam Lambert Dance (you should be on the treadmill) album. I also have an Adam Sings the Greatest Hits album that now includes Marry The Night. ** QAL and working with Nile Rodgers and AVICII have done so much to build Adam's credibility in the music business that they both make great strategic sense. Both along with Glee have expanded Adam's fanbase. And both have maintained existing fan interest in Adam over the course if the past year of basically no new music, no tour. Regarding A3, Adam and Shoshanna have both basically said it will be out in 2014. ** If anyone has or see decent audio of "Music Again" from the Beaulive concert, please let me know. I really want this.
