Brian is going on tour in Feb with Kerry Ellis and we don't know for how long. ====> The Brian/Kerry Ellis tour is exactly 5 stops.
Kerry Ellis @kerryjaneellis1 10 Dec Great day rehearsing with @drbrianmay for our tour in feb ! Have you got your tks yet ?! If there will be a Queenbert tour it would be sometime after March which is suppose to be Adam's time. ====> Why would it have to be after March? Even though I'd say, that if no tour is presently announced, it is unlikely going to be earlier, but otherwise, I see no reason why they could not work together during March, i.e. rehearse, if they wanted to do so. Either way having a tour at all is once again right in the middle of another album era. =====> Care to share these dates with the rest of us? Would love to know them.I really believe the reason why we had a tour the first time was because Adam and his people already knew there would be no album support for TSP. I think they took the opportunity for $$$. ======> Possible, but not likely. This was decided prior to even the album release or the NCOE add on. Adam was very optimistic about TSP at the time. Thank goodness we all did not know any different about RCA.It can't be for exposure because from a marketing point fronting a 40yr band performing old songs isn't going to do anything for Adam's actual career. =======> Really? Kiss-fm covered iHeart and had interview with Adam, because of this 40 yr old band. Go figure. He got great attention because of this. And Queen would not have had an iHeart stop without Adam either. There is a reason they got invited. Somebody in the US seems to like that 40 yr old band. And Adam. If there will be a Queen tour than I would have to believe that they know Adam's US audience. No management in their right mind would have their popstar tour with a band that doesn't expose him to a more current audience unless they think that is the best they got. Cover album? heh. Those glee fans aren't going to run out and buy Queen tickets. Not. going. to. happen. which leads be to say why even do it. ======> Really? Can't this be a case for Queen fans + Adam fans + Glee fans, + classic rock fans = Full arena
calculation on part of a possible promoter. Why is this an either / or situation?
Shoshanna is Adam's publicist so it's her job to say good things are coming and in Shoshanna's world that doesn't give me much confidence. ======> Yes it is, and what she says usually happens. Very confident. They would extend his Glee stint, if he had nothing else on his plate. They don't because that plate is full.
Also Adam says every year that the next will rock. =====> And every year since 2009 he has rocked my world. My worst fear is the big 2014 news for Adam is going to be Queen tour. Can you tell I'm not as enthusiastic for Adam/Queen. Waste of time. ======> Nobody needs to go, if they feel the concert is a waste of their time. I and many others will be thankfully picking up the seat tickets that you don't want. ===> Responses in blue.
====> The Brian/Kerry Ellis tour is exactly 5 stops. 5 stops can lead to 10 stops. As we've seen with Adam/Queen 7 gigs isn't enough
====> Why would it have to be after March? Even though I'd say, that if no tour is presently announced, it is unlikely going to be earlier, but otherwise, I see no reason why they could not work together during March, i.e. rehearse, if they wanted to do so. Adam has an album to make. In his own words he's not even close to finishing it. When do you suppose in 2014 he would need to finish his album.=====> Care to share these dates with the rest of us? Would love to know them. Adam and Queen toured in june/july 2012. His album dropped on May 2012. What artist that drops his own album runs and perform with another band singing cover songs. Does that sound like someone who is out to promote his own current career if he though he had one.
======> Possible, but not likely. This was decided prior to even the album release or the NCOE add on. Adam was very optimistic about TSP at the time. Thank goodness we all did not know any different about RCA. No manager who is serious about taking his still developing artist to a superstar level would hook him up with an irrelevant band. They might be legends but they aren't putting current music out which makes them irrelevant to the fans that Adam wants which is 18-49. If TSP was a priority no way the label would have OK a Queen tour. Just ask Kelly Clarkson. You don't cut into the label promo time unless they don't give a crap.
And Adam. If you think Queen got invited because of Adam, I got one word for you FUN. They could have filled that night with many guest stars and it would still be Queen. Which proves my point without Queen there would have been a snowball chance in hell Adam would have been invited with an Album that tanked.
======> Really? Can't this be a case for Queen fans + Adam fans + Glee fans, + classic rock fans = Full arena calculation on part of a possible promoter. Why is this an either / or situation? NO. Not all Classic rock fans are Queen fans. Queen weren't even huge here in the US. Also the idea that Queen can fill MSG is delusional. Glee fans are not going to be buying Queen tickets. I'm positive about that.

I like your album tracklist. I will have to try it! I have LWOG on my Adam Lambert Dance (you should be on the treadmill) album. I also have an Adam Sings the Greatest Hits album that now includes Marry The Night. Which of these playlists does What's Love Got To Do With It? fall under though?! I'll post it again cause I've never seen another Glambert mention it but Adam's vocal is gorgeous

It's funny -- but I also have my own special digital Trespassing album -- and I also left out two tracks that do not belong on that album -- the RCA mandated tracks NCOE and BTIKM. But I put on Runnin' 2 times. I also have a special FYE album where some of the album tracks are replaced with Acoustic versions -- like Aftermath. I really like my versions a lot. *** I have followed Queen closely for a long time -- and I think it is very, very unlikely that Brian and Roger will do an extensive tour -- my bet is a few concerts -- like five. And I think there is very little chance that Adam will tour with Queen, but he might do a few special shows -- a mini tour. Regarding Adam's management -- Adam is a very self-directed artist. He is not someone's puppet. DMG and Edge have done a great job working for him, his lawyers have done an even better job -- and they all work for Adam, not the other way around. IMHO Adam and his management team are right on track, he is separated from 19 Recordings and RCA, he has built strong support in the gay community (something he did not have in 2009), he is building credibility as an actor and TV performer, he did iHR Music Festival which is the biggest Clear Channel Radio event of the year, and most importantly, he seems to be evolving as an artist. I expect big things for Adam in 2014. And I think we have some surprises coming. ETA: I just realized I wrote "He is not someone's puppet." And there is a puppet windmill GIF in the thread. I just should have used that!! He controls puppets! I think DMG and Edge have done a good job but not prepared to say great yet. So far removing Adam from all things Idol is the first step. I think DMG not being on board from the very beginning of TPS and 19R still in mix I'm giving them the benefit of doubt that their hands were still somewhat tied. 19R has a lot of say when it comes to Idols albums. I heart and Glee were good opportunities but I follow enough popstars and their promos to know what many more opportunities are out there. DMG is still missing the boat with some things. 2014 should be interesting because we will see how great DMG really is. If they can convince Adam to get a new band than I will say they mean serious business. What do you think Adam/DMG should be doing? What good opportunities did they miss? What pop artist who does not have any new music and whose last (and only) US Top 10 hit was released 4 years ago has more going on? Most of the Idol alumni with similar or even better sales are on the "where are they now list"? Granted, most of what Adam has going on is because of his extreme talent and his likability and his openness to doing different things. Glee, for example, could have been just another guest star who was on for a bit and forgotten. It actually generated a lot of buzz, he prove he can act, and he proved he can be a musical comedy star. For a hiatus year, 2013 was very packed for Adam. And he is better known now than he was in mid-2011 when DMG took over his management. And more importantly, he has more credibility in the music business and an excellent platform for his next album. I was very critical of RCA after the leadership change -- specifically their A&R strategy and their promo strategy which made no sense to me. I think RCA (circa 2011-2012) blew it because they tried to turn Adam into an Adult Contemporary artist (BTIKM and NCOE) and never understood him or his fans. They envisioned recapturing all his Idol fans who loved Mad World. ** Finally, I expect Adam will strengthen/change his band for the next tour. But one thing I am absolutely sure of -- Adam will change his band when he wants to and no one will convince him to do it any sooner than that. And we know that when necessary, he is capable of making hard choices about his band.

Lots of valid points from both sides here. Just want to add a minor thing. I don't understand the comment that Gleeks don't want covers from old bands. Besides a current song here and there, isn't that pretty much what Glee is all about?
Also, if Adam gets a thrill from sharing the stage with the group he has idolized since childhood, who happen to be some of history's most respected muscians, then that's reason enough for me. Cause when Adam is old and asked the same question about his long, highly successful career, I am pretty sure he will still Include playing with Queen as one of his top career highlights.

My thoughts on 2014 are that the first 4 to 6 months will be time for special one-off events, firming things up with a new label and the promotion hoopla that goes along with that, more writing and recording, and most likely involve some Queen shows. Also, I see opportunities for television/film roles based on the Glee experience. The last half of 2014 is going to be focused on album promotion that will include radio and television appearances, album release late fall, potential for some overseas promotion, and preparation for a tour to promote A3. At least, that is how I would like to see it happen. It will definitely be a busy time and we can only speculate on what the real itinerary looks like, so far.

I wonder how ADAM feels about his career trajectory at this point? Everyone is allowed an opinion of what his management is doing for him, what kind of year 2013 has been, and what 2014 has in store, but none of them matter except Adam's. Adam is not Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber, he is following a different path, whether it is the one he originally envisioned or not. Watching him finally get the respect he has always deserved, listening to him talk about new music with a smile on his face, knowing that Glee has garnered him new fans, all make me happy, and it seems it makes him happy, too. No, he would not share any dissatisfaction with us, it is not his way, but just like everyone else in this world, he plays the hand that he's dealt, and if there is a dud now and then, so be it. From where I sit, he's come a long way, baby, and his future looks bright.

Thanks for the reminder . ETA: no, I'm wrong, it's still there, I didn't lose it afterall. Just forgot about it!

BTIKM is a great song (but I too have a NCOE vendetta)!!!! I have Love Wins Over Glamour in between Kickin In' - Naked Love, and Hold On between Chokehold - Outlaws of Love in mine. And By the Rules moved forward between BTIKM - Broken English, Map switched with Nirvana. Flows really well imo try it out you crazy kids!! I like your album tracklist. I will have to try it! I have LWOG on my Adam Lambert Dance (you should be on the treadmill) album. I also have an Adam Sings the Greatest Hits album that now includes Marry The Night. ** QAL and working with Nile Rodgers and AVICII have done so much to build Adam's credibility in the music business that they both make great strategic sense. Both along with Glee have expanded Adam's fanbase. And both have maintained existing fan interest in Adam over the course if the past year of basically no new music, no tour. Regarding A3, Adam and Shoshanna have both basically said it will be out in 2014. ** If anyone has or see decent audio of "Music Again" from the Beaulive concert, please let me know. I really want this. Q3, We don't have actual proof of this yet. Until album 3 drops we won't know how much his fanbase has expanded. Right now there is more awareness of Adam but will it translate for album 3. I agree Nile and Avicii helps build Adam's credibility in the music business because they are current and relevant. Truth.
