I loved this post so I decided to tackle it from a different perspective! I wanted to go bit by bit and then I will post a set list of sorts...I know this was more Q3's wishlist - I am going to make a few points as to yay or nay - a little more predictive to show what is possible vs highly unlikely. My setlist will be my wishlist while trying to stay in the realm of likeliness!
My Dream Queen + Adam Lambert Concert
What should Queen + Adam Lambert perform?12.16.13 by Q3
I tried to be a bit realistic. We know they will perform the 5 big US hits, so they are on the list. I even included a reprise of two of them:
1. We Will Rock You
2. We Are the Champions
3. Another One Bites the Dust (Their biggest US hit.)
4. Bohemian Rhapsody
5. Crazy Little Thing Called Love
The other definite (in some form or other): Tie Your Mother Down (Brian will NOT play a gig without this track. Even in the acoustic Kerry settings, he breaks out the old lady for a track. Mark my words no matter if Adam sings it or Brian sings it, TYMD will be played. Not so certain Brian will sing it this time though... [/quote]
Agree on STL - that's one of their new favs and Adam likes singing it and Extravaganza performed it on AI, etc. so this will stay. Under Pressure? I don't think that's as definite as you think it is. It took awhile for them to bring that back to the QPR lists and it didn't stay there. Yes they played it at the QAL shows AND Roger loves it so I will say it's likely but not quite as definite. For example Ga Ga is FAR more definite!
To me this is some of my favorite moments of the show (sorry guys!) With that in mind:
I'm hoping that Days of Our Lives is played in some fashion as well. AND I think it's a song if played that will definitely be Adamless given that it turned into a saying goodbye type of song. They didn't play it on the North American tour last time (except the 2 2005 dates) so I can only hope.
Love Of My Life is another definite
'39 is highly likely
Drum/Guitar is a definite (at least guitar
I'm hoping for Brian to continue what he did at Hammersmith and throw in an acoustic song of the day before Love Of My Life. There are a ton of songs he could have fun with.
One specific song I'd like to hear here (and that he threw in on occasion during QPR) is Long Away:
A few other possibilities here:
Leaving Home Ain't Easyor maybe an acoustic version of
Sail Away Sweet Sister (maybe Adam sings the Freddie bridge section?)
I would ALSO love to see RT go outside of the box and throw in something we haven't heard from him in awhile. I would personally love
Heaven For Everyone = He DID just perform it at The Cross one off a few days back...
The QUEEN version with Brian's solo has never been tried live. That would rock!
I don't think Seven Seas unfortunately would be seen as a must-include. I would hope they do though!
IMO the only song Adam really claimed as his own was WWTLF so hopefully that stays
He did do well on the others. Show Must Go On would 99% be there. I Want It All is also a STRONG possibility as in 95% likely. I Want To Break Free though is not as definite. It's another song they dropped during the NA QPR tour. I think they liken it to their downfall in America or think America doesn't like it.
That's a possibility. Although Roger sings it a lot he gave it up for Paul to sing quite a few times. If RT does it, I'd like to see him sing and drum like he did in 08
DELETING Q3's vids for sheer length of the post
I would KILL for this one. Still remains a slim possibility to me...but maybe there's hope.
Never say never I guess, but I'd give this about a .01% chance of happening. Would LOVE to see it but it won't.
Out of ALL the "new" songs they could add to the setlist with Adam, I think this is the most likely choice. I hope it's added too!
Another good possibility. Brian loves this song and I was surprised it wasn't on the QAL tour initially. I would love to see it done like Brian and Paul did. Brian starts out acoustically and then when it rocks, Adam takes over
NO chance. None. I would say Black Queen has a better shot. B&R both hate the track. Queen fans hate the track - it might be *THE* least favorite Queen track in the catalogue. LOL. I hope they don't. Esepcially since there are so many other tracks I'd rather hear.
If it's done it will be Roger and Brian. I have a hard time picturing Adam singing this due to the circumstances of the song.
Another doubtful one. Very intuned with Freddie's sense of humor. I just don't see it happening. I'd give it a 1% chance (more than Black Queen or Body Language but not much more) It could be good though...
Always a possibility. Brian gets into retro moods a lot so it would never be shocking. BUT it's been less and less. QUEEN used to do them all the time. QPR did not. So take it as you will. Queen might not think to do it given Adam's age. It's not like Adam grew up with those songs...(and by that I mean lived through the age)
TYMD - 100% guaranteed in. Ga Ga - 95% guaranteed in. FBG has the chance to be dropped but it's been a constant since 1998 in Brian/Queen gigs. So It's likely in.
95% in. Brian loves it, Adam loves it, and it's a song Queen brought back specifically for North America during the QPR days.
Would be a nice set list....though a few quick notes on the actual setlist:
I don't see Brian taking lead on Seven Seas, Somebody To Love (unless in the acoustic setting) or AOBTD at ALL.
As far as Adam song goes. I'm not one who says it's NEVER going to happen. I just still think it's unlikely. I *DO* think the more they tour together the better the chances get. I agree there's not many tracks right now that Adam has that they would do (Time For Miracles maybe?) A new song? Maybe a new song if they wrote something together...but I wouldn't hold your breath.
A quick run through of potential possibilities and then my unlikely wishes:
Innuendo - Many fans have clamored for it so Brian listens to the Queen fans...
One Vision - QPR did this once or twice.
Headlong - Perhaps Brian sung - he dug the track quite a bit
Too Much Love Will Kill You - always a possibility though not done very often
It's A Hard Life - Really want this to happen. Tom Chaplin from Keane did a great job in 2010 so that's a shot.
Save Me - Made for Adam to sing. Would LOVE this one to happen as well.
Unlikely wishes:
White Queen
Was It All Worth It
Princes Of The Universe
Liar
Let Me Live (with all 3 singing different verses)
Spread Your Wings
So after all that! The Talon dream setlist:
1. Tie Your Mother Down (sung by Brian)
