Nah, he just needs to have a label that knows WTF they are doing. A Ceo that "gets" him. P2? Waiting for album #2 sales before I start comparing him. Can't imagine Adam opening. He hasn't since his career began. It's kind of like putting Baby in the corner and no one puts Baby in the corner. Not just that, but not many people would want to try and follow his act - the contrast would kill!!! |

I always like to point out that I know nothing about the music business before I opine, but I think that being seen as a 'Star" has been important to Adam's very successful career, a career that has outshone his sales record to a degree that I find interesting. I think the fact that he doesn't open for others, but can bring in respectable crowds on his own is an important part of his star persona. Having a successful tour right out the gate was extremely valuable for his image. Opening for another artist would be a step backwards IMO. Now the media often treats him like a peer to Katy, Miley, etc. Look at how his attendance at Britney's Vegas opening, called an "A" list star along with this likes of Katy. Your post got me thinking. His management and PR team have done an excellent job of marketing him in the public eye. Many people know who he is, if not specifics about his voice. He is an A-list celebrity, despite not having a big hit single since 2010. The media loves him and loves reporting about him. His loyal fans give media much needed hits. The perception that Adam is a peer to the biggest pop stars is pervasive. All this gives Adam additional opportunities, fuels continued interest, and creates a hunger for new projects, new music, and more PR. We often complain about the world not recognizing the genius and one in a billion talent of Adam, but, I have to stop and acknowledge that his marketing team is doing their job very well, as is Adam. And his fans. Anticipating "forward motion" with eagerness. |
