I always like to point out that I know nothing about the music business before I opine, but I think that being seen as a 'Star" has been important to Adam's very successful career, a career that has outshone his sales record to a degree that I find interesting. I think the fact that he doesn't open for others, but can bring in respectable crowds on his own is an important part of his star persona. Having a successful tour right out the gate was extremely valuable for his image. Opening for another artist would be a step backwards IMO. Now the media often treats him like a peer to Katy, Miley, etc. Look at how his attendance at Britney's Vegas opening, called an "A" list star along with this likes of Katy. I guess I'm not seeing the "A list" thing yet. Sure, he gets reported about online a lot. But, the mainstream media still does not include him with the likes of Katy Perry, Adam Levine, etc. I see a pic of him online from the Spears opening, but not a mention (or pic) in a mainstream mag like People. I honestly don't see how opening for someone huge on a limited basis would hurt his image at all. He has virtually no radio presence, what could it hurt?
Not a big deal, though, really. A couple radio hits could get him there. Hopefully, this time his label will get it done.
eta---Having said all this, Glee is an incredible gig for him. Hope to see more of these high profile things this year

Nah, he just needs to have a label that knows WTF they are doing. A Ceo that "gets" him. P2? Waiting for album #2 sales before I start comparing him. Can't imagine Adam opening. He hasn't since his career began. It's kind of like putting Baby in the corner and no one puts Baby in the corner. ETA: EXACTLY! I was thinking about that scene Adamrocks. :D

If Adam were remotely interested in opening for an arena act -- who's touring in 2014? That merchandise guys remark makes me wonder if some kind of tour is really in the works. Actually it makes me think that A3 may be closer then we imagined. Wouldn't it have to be released before a tour? Katy Perry will be touring in 2014. It would be a compatible pairing but i don't think Adam will open for anyone. Why would he do that when he can fill 2-3,00 capacity venues on his own? I would hate to see him do arenas but I'm thinking of the massive exposure if he were to tour with an arena performer. My sometimes dreams are for Queen to tour and have Adam as their front man. Queen then backs Adam on some of his own stuff. (yeah, right!)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2-sGeoojHM&list=RDQ2-sGeoojHM Adam knows the game Take out the fifteen minutes of fame and add longevity and you have Adam.... He is doing GREAT... building a strong base, building blocks, for a solid career that holds all kinds of longevity. He has a smart team working for him and he knows what he wants and is learning how to get there.Success breeds success .. He is #1 Adam is all over the place, concerts,TV,magazine articles, red carpets, charity benefits,Queen ,Avicii,Glee and folks are worrying . IMHO There are all kinds of success and Katie,Gaga,Bruno ,don't hold the answers to Adam's unique talent. Do I hear the sound of angsting just as Adam is admired world wide for his amazing talent, accepted for his sexuality and courted by some incredible talents in the world. Adam said 2014 is going to be over the top.. why oh why would he be the opening act for others??? :-S

I've got to agree with bullsfan. I think print media is still important to lots of people and wish he'd appear in Rolling Stone, People, Entertainment Weekly, etc., and online on the main pages of CNN, EW, etc. to me it seems many or most of his online media mentions are on what are basically blogs, or in places where you really need to dig to find the articles. I think his management is doing a great job keeping him in the public eye, though, and positioning him to be ready when his new music comes out.

I speak only for myself, but I don't care if Adam tours as an opening act for a superstar ( a la Katy Perry); a mid size solo tour or even a small club tour...I just want him to release a new album under a new label and start TOURING and performing new music. Adam Is a performer; it must be very hard for to go through long stretches of time without performing. Writing and recording are part of his job, but I think singing his face off in front of an audience is what feeds his soul. lol, and mine too! haha! such an old topic and finally I see a "new" opinion! usually everyone falls on "ay" or "nay" lines . Thank you, Avari for putting a smile on my face! I am a staunch defender of a big fat "NAY" re opening for anyone! If nothing else I really mind paying a substantial amount for some big name (that most probably can't sing), knowing my money and my attendance are not attributed to Adam. At this point in his career I just can't see him going for an opening act anyway, so no worries here... He does need a label invested in his project - that's for sure! Lol, I'm used to having a different opinion than the majority. Fortunately, Adam and his team will make their decisions without any help from all of us. :D I am excited to see what 2014 will bring for Adam!
