I get the fan excitement for having such a strong Canadian Olympic Team but I am not sure I get the smack the Canadian snowboarders threw at Shawn White. Not Classy, and not very "Canadian" based on my experience. I chalk it up to young, arrogant X-gamers, but that probably cost them a ton of fans and endorsements. You just don't diss Shawn White. Thankfully they deleted the worst tweets. Whaaaaaaaa???? Canadian snowboarders have been evil? ??? Why would anyone be dissing Shaun White??? Sadly, it's true.  I like Shawn White - he seems very genuine. I first saw him when he and Adam both appeared on the same Leno episode. We can see them shaking hands here after the performance. It might be a bland little number, but I agree: the Gleeks will LOVE it, and I will love it because, well... it's Adam singing something new and IDGAF what it is as long as it's new music!! And I'm assuming Melvin will be MIA, which will make me ridiculously HAPPY!!!!     The scruff grows back fast, viv & seoulmate. Don't get too excited! |

My memory is not all it should be but I can think of a number of times we have seen Adam in duets...some pre idol and others post. My prayer twice...once with cantor ??name? and with Noa Dori [sp? again] Duet at pr event for Wicked; most/many stage singing has elements of a 'duet' in that there is sharing of the spotlight idol and post idol: Alison Iraheta; Kris Allen [finale; Ford showcase]; Alison and Kris [RMT] Alisan [Aftermath]; Angie [Titanium]; Young contestant in China [WWFM]; Fun w/Queen, iheart; Russian/Ukraine singer w/queen @ Kiev; I am sure I have missed lots...I have ignored 'group' sings or just audio [such as with Eden Espinoza] THANK YOU, MSZUE!!! I'm going to re-visit these duets, but even as I was reading your list, little mental pictures of all these performances were coming back to me, and in every single one of them, Adam was 100% engaged with his duet partner!! |

What I see Adam doing right now, is to use TV very effectively and to also balance pre-recorded shows with other events and interviews that will be happening right then and there, creating an impression of omnipresence that is very attention getting. Like everyone is talking about him and he is everywhere at once. You cannot do that, if your media cycle is many, many months long.
Also, I think that Adam found that the topics for interviews had thinned out, by the time he had a chance to talk about first the 2 singles and then the album with the media. And while Adam himself has hundreds of topics he could talk about, he is only going to get time to address those that make sense to the interviewer. And yes, I agree, the delays compounded that problem. And so did the fact that the first single only became truly meaningful with that wonderful video a month too late, and the second single was clearly lacking in content.
Bruno Mars gets away with singing about nothing, people expect uncomplicated stuff from him. But Adam is different. People assume rightfully that he has something to say, and they ask him about the lyrics and Adam did the best he could to sell NCOE, but the truth was, there just was not anything there to sell. And it left interviewers confused. They usually don't know the background, and they just assume, that if Adam made that his single, it must be meaningful to him. Little did they know that he was just busy selling the 'lemon' that corporate had asked him to sell.
So, this time, I see a true planning of events happening. Things make sense again. And with a good song to go along with it, I hope it all will come together this time.
Talking about everything coming together. Today I listened to this again.
I had the fortune to be at the GNT premiere in Wilkes-Barre and this was the opener. Incredible, even now, 3 and a half years later. Adam at his best. At that time, when the first batch of GNT concerts were announced, they had 22 concerts scheduled - that was all. Mostly east coast.
By the time, this concert happened on June 4, they had added another 10-12 shows, given that every one of those first 22 had sold out. Slowly they built from there, and by the time Adam was done, he had done 116 shows and gone around the world. How much do I wish for him one more time such a wonderful experience of growth. And while the actual AL tour will probably be a 2015 thing, the growth in recognition and in sales, is very much something I am hoping that 2014 will bring for him.

I just can't deal with the current heavy dyed-black mustache nonsense combined with the shaved back and sides.  Like, these pics are molten HOT...  |
