Love love love Gloria Really like Hold On and The Happening. Totally disappointed in Barracuda. Too softened - losses the drive of the beat for me. Bummer. Will be interesting to see them all in context to the story line. I think the lack of momentum is because Lea sits back on the note instead of driving forward on the lyric. Agree, it lacks the needed aggression. Imho

I have a theory on why the Lea & Santana songs are ahead. Besides them being regular cast members (as is Kurt, OFC) their songs were very emotional movers of the plot line. Their rivalry, since Season one has been epic! So Brave, I'll Be Watching You, and especially Rain on My Parade are HUGE for Glee fans! IBIATCL is basically a great song, that for most, was just stuck into the episode so Kurt and Elliott could sing together! I think it's that the song IBITCL is just not well known in the US. I had never heard it before and one of my daughters commented that 'Adam sung a song with Kurt that she didn't know but 'Brave' was great. All the songs with more hits are well known. IBITCL is catchy but you need to hear it a few times in order for it to be catchy. I agree that it is the song. IBITCL was promoted in the US, it failed here (Billboard Hot 100 peak was #119 -- did not make the chart) -- even though The Darkness have fans in the US and their album did OK (peaked at #36, certified Gold on shipments, a lot of the shipped copies did not sell and many were liquidated through music club sales in the US.) >> The video was made for the US promotion. The fact that the music video was a joke and looks like it was made for Dr. Who fans didn't help. I do not think IBITCL is the best track from their 2003 album "Permission to Land" but that kind of glam-camp rock has never been big in the US, wasn't big here in the 80's, and is not big here now. [The era of Glam Rock success in the US was in the 1970's -- T.rex]. >> They tried to relaunch The Darkness in 2012 in the US. Part of this effort was a feature of IBITCL on a Superbowl commercial -- here is more info about that commercial. www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8PVLEJF2SkThe song moved up to #1 on iTunes but only briefly, did not chart on the Billboard 100 and only hit #67 on the digital song chart (sales). If a song can't chart in the US after being featured in the Superbowl, it is not connecting with many Americans. I am a The Darkness fan, and I love the guitar on the original IBIATCL recording. BUT I can't figure out why they pick such an odd, twice rejected neo-glam song for GLEE. ** IBIATCL was not the "show-stopper" performance of Glee 5x09 -- I think DROMP and Brave were the two show stoppers. [I mean this in the theatrical sense. Musicals are paced with different levels of performance to create a total effect. MTN was the show stopper. I think Barracuda will also a show stopper. ** The short answer for me is -- maybe if Adam did a solo, it might have had more YT traffic but it is the song. Not a hit here not, not a hit in 2003 or 2012.

Will be interesting to see them all in context to the story line. Hmmm... I love Barracuda. And I agree with the earlier comments about Lea, but I still love it overall. I like The Happening, especially when Adam shines in comparison. Did not expect anything from Hold On, and got my expectations met. It's a group number - alright. Can't get Gloria. Love that song normally, but think this is a bit of a mess - not really together, too many cooks in the kitchen. So, I guess, that proves that all matters of taste are very subjective....Glad we all have different opinions and can each choose our favs.

Junkets you are right, Allison Ireheta would have been great with Adam on Barracuda. I really do love Lea Michelle's voice but just no rock edge. After a couple listens Gloria is growing on me. Adam is incredible on Barracuda, very breathy and sexy sounding.
