@hooplamagnet 3m MT @artistsmayvary: #TBT @adamlambert photographed by @schwabelstudio for @theadvocatemag #theadvocatemag… instagram.com/p/mDaYB-wqg8/ Oh that lovely, freckled, non-tattoed arm .... *sigh* (well not-as-tattoed anyway) Also he has a beautiful head of hair and a clean shaven face. One of my favorite looks.

U2 isn't touring this summer. Their album isn't done and while it might still come out before end of the year tour will definitely not be until next year. Also their next tour is not going to be anything massive like 360 at least not right off. The boys are talking about going back to indoor venues this time around. Will probably be more like their Elevation tour from the early 2000's or Vertigo which was mostly indoors in the US but stadiums elsewhere in the world. The whole U2 promotion start and then stop was very odd..... Delays like this are not unusual. But getting so far into major promotion and calling a halt to everything is something that doesn't happen very often. It will be interesting to see how this develops. ** Stadium tours have become rare in North America. One Direction will do one this Fall....http://www.justjaredjr.com/2013/11/24/one-direction-announce-2014-u-s-canada-stadium-tour/ And they are doing 2 nights in Met Life Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ. But even some big act are playing amphitheaters vs. arenas this year. Actually most of that promotion had little if anything to do with the album. The opportunity to write the Mandela song actually interrupted the album process for them and U2 do not deal well with interruptions because they are a bit fickle with material in some ways and any interruption is just an opportunity for them to go off on a completely different tangent. Even "Invisible" being released in that superbowl commercial was really more of an opportunity that came calling rather than a planned promo. I think Bono talked the band in to using a potential album track for a project (RED) opportunity as maybe a little way of testing the waters in terms of where they are going. What seems to have happened is that when it came down to the deadline for actually putting tour plans in motion they took a good look and decided to skip this year. They will never again reach the point of actually booking a tour before an album is finished. They learned that lesson with "Pop" in 1997. The album itself is still tentatively on track for a late fall release but at no point has any of this ever reached actual date commitment. Since they are now working with Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth we don't even really know if they are working on the same songs they did with Danger Mouse or if they have totally switched gears. Over the last 5 years they have actually started about 3 or 4 different collections of material plus they have tracks left over from the last albums sessions, as well as some work they did with Rick Rubin before the last album that they have said they will get back to at some point. The guys are a bit ADD when it comes to the writing process. They have also been dealing with transitioning management from Paul McGuiness to Guy O'seary all tied in with the whole Live Nation Management thing. Oh, and that initially on track comment about the tour would only mean that tour planning was started with an initial target date but when it came time for firm commitments on anything they would have passed and put it off till next year. The initial planning for U2 tours always starts well before the album is anywhere near done but nothing is firmed up until they know for sure they are done. Willie (tour designer) has confirmed that they have started brainstorming but until they are at point to actually hear some music they won't be very far along. They might have had tentative holds on dates that they ultimately released but all the plans would have still been at the very early stages. The press is still silly enough to half believe Bono on time projections. Fans know better and believe me the noise about tour was still just noise and only starting to get worth listening to when the "delays" happened. ETA: Oh yeah, Edge actually said in an interview earlier this year that they have about 4 different albums of material they have been working on and at least one of them should get finished at some point this year.

A couple of years ago I met Adam's Unca Dave. One of the things he told me was this: "We (the family) kept saying to Adam, 'Go to New York! Go to Broadway! You'll be big on Broadway!' Adam would just shake his head and say 'But I wanna be a rock star.' " Do you have any more on the Unca Dave meeting? He is one of the more interesting characters of a family of interesting people. Adam's whole family must be just a little cooler than the average. Adam wears his grandfather's star sapphire ring and his Uncle's silver mood ring. I know of no men that age that would have owned anything that fashion forward. ---------- Why is everyone questioning Adam staying in an LA theater company? It was LA not Branson or community theater. I also think he learned his lesson when he quit Wicked the first time. He said he would stay and he LA. Just another completed circle of Adam's destiny. Hi Kittykay - Yes! Adam's Unca Dave is a character! A very intelligent, witty, open, affable person. It's not surprising his field of work involves lots of social interaction. He told me about the ring Adam wears on his left (? left, I think) index finger. It was Adam's grandfather's, and Dave spoke of how proud he would be of Adam, and all he has accomplished while remaining true to himself.
