Got a different question for those who are reading a bit more regularly at TWoP, and are more familiar with what is going on there. Somehow, I am reading different tweets indicating that TWoP goes away. ? Not sure, whether this is the whole site or just certain portions or what is happening, because I am rarely there, but I feel, that if this is happening, we have to 'rescue' two Adam threads as well as all the Jacob season 8 stuff. Cannot imagine loosing that. I think, somebody already stored the Adam related season 8 stuff from Jacob somewhere, but it may be worthwhile to think a bit broader. Question, does anybody know, whether these tweets are for real, and what exactly will be disappearing and whether we need to do something drastic, before it is too late. Thanks ETA: yes, confirmed, this is happening. So, are we going to try to archive? How big is the interest? Yes, we should work to the Adam threads and the Jacob Season 8 comments. I can set up a board for it to go here. And if we divide it up it should be easy. Here is the schedule for TWOP. TWOP will cease operations on April 4, but our forums will remain open till May 31. Thank you for your support over the years. My read of that is that we have until May 31, 2014 before they close it down. *** We need someone to be "captain" of this effort. You just have to keep it organized and assign parts to volunteers to copy and paste. And to do this, and have it be useful, it will require copying and pasting. I will look at it in the morning and see how to set up the boards. it's my understanding that Terra has all the Jacob Season 8 somewhere. I have no idea if it is here though And new thread is up |

As far as I know, the Jacob posts are not here. But those I think members have saved copies of.
There were several other very great posters there in 2009 in particular.

Anyone familiar with archive.org? When I enter i.e. forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3182890-adam-lambert-glittery-alien-from-planet-fierce/which is page one of the original thread into archive.org, then it says that this page does not exist of the web, which is obviously nonsense, but clearly, when I search generically, I can find a few select pages that somebody must have been able to store from this thread? Just wondering whether anybody is familiar with that site, how it works and knows who runs this, given that it must be humungous. Just trying to see whether that would be a way to archive this stuff for us. ETA: @dancey twop= television without pity a major website, where for the last 10 years lost of TV shows were reviewed and they also had forums. The idol reviews for season 8 were done by Jacob, and those (that is, the Adam sections thereof) apparently have been secured already. The forum section had 2 Adam threads, the one above, which has 773 pages and a second one (called Take 2), which has around 500 pages and is still active. It would be especially important to retain the first thread, because that is all the idol time and FYE time, when this forum was not yet existent. |
