We will never know why Kris won and not Adam. We will also never know if Adam's career would look at all different now had he won rather than come in second. Theories abound, and I, like many of you, have my own beliefs about the matter. I just wanted to point out one misinterpretation. People say that more people voted for Kris than for Adam. We have no way of knowing that. We know that Kris got more VOTES, but that doesn't mean more VOTERS. I voted for Adam. I think I called in three votes. I had no idea that people were calling in literally hundreds of times from multiple phones and also texting. Never dawned on me to do that. If it had, I still would not have invested the time to. I was not that into AI or reality TV in general. AI has never been about the BEST singer. It has not been about America's favorite singer. It has been about who can chalk up the most votes. Like a popularity contest in high school, except that students can stuff the ballot boxes. No wonder there are people who look upon Idol winners with scorn. Idol did what Adam needed it to do for him. Idol introduced Adam to me and to America. I will ever be grateful for that, but I can't really stand the premise of the show now that I have seen how it works. If anyone is watching Idol this season, it is kind of obvious that the new voting rules have evened the playing field. I agree, Kris had more votes, not more voters. California loved Adam but were any cities here organizing mass texting in football stadiums! Hell, no! Never! LOL! Another thing I have heard is that AT & T is NOT the #1 provider in Cali, but Verizon is. So, there you go. I had no way of mass texting. Back to my opening sentence. This year, with the new voting rules, where all voters are equal, every single week the correct person has been eliminated. It's been kind of mind boggling!

Wow, I'd never heard that before. I feel bad for Amy. That had to be hard for her. But, she must be a tough lady to keep quiet about it, all for Adam. Well, for Eber too, I'm sure. But, still a crappy thing to have to do. Stupid flippin' producers, anyways. ugh!! [wryly] Well, it was probably odd from a narrative viewpoint. Adam was already out of the house when Eber and Leila divorced, (to my knowledge) Eber and Amy never married so she's...."Adam's Dad's girlfriend". Hard to caption under the screenshot. That said, its kinda amazing that Eber, Amy, and Leila all still extremely friendly with each other. Make it easier to see how Adam stays friends with all his exes!! That's when they use the caption "Family and Friends" :)I didn't even know Adam's parents were divorced until the very end of the season!

Yep. Amy. Who at one point stated she was pulled out of camera shots by the producers. Was pretty hurt at times if I recall. (Which I would be too if I had been Eber's partner for so many years, was friends with Leila, and yet ordered to be invisible). But the whole family - including her - wanted Adam to do well, so she kept quiet while he was on the show. Wow, I'd never heard that before. I feel bad for Amy. That had to be hard for her. But, she must be a tough lady to keep quiet about it, all for Adam. Well, for Eber too, I'm sure. But, still a crappy thing to have to do. Stupid flippin' producers, anyways. ugh!! If you walk into a divorce situation with kids, you need to be prepared for a few awkward moments here and there. It's not always about you. They just normally don't play out on TV. But real life deals you situations where both parents of the kids need to come together and you just need to be gracious for them. Whenever I found adults, who were not able to handle it, those second relationships were in trouble too, or even worse, that father/mother ended up with a strongly damaged relationship with their own child, which is terrible too. Seen my share of drama in my life, but to anybody walking into such a situation, I'd say, be prepared to sometimes be written out of a script. Just wish you that the script is not played out in front of 30 million, which was the challenge in this specific case. And in that sense, Amy certainly acted maturely and dealt with it. Good for her. Her later article was significantly less mature, but by then, it did not matter anymore.

I have honestly never experienced this. It is not because I am too young, or grew up in a liberal family -- my family is very conservative and very Catholic. You have never experienced a closeted person in your life? Are you being serious? Or you are saying, if they are closeted and are saying that they are a bachelor, then you just take this at face value that they just never found a partner?I mean, of course, for some people, the reasons are unrelated to lgbt, sure. But, for all? Nope. Not buying that. Well you can call me naive or whatever you want but I have never looked at people who decided not to marry as being closeted anything...never entered my mine. Just because someone chooses to remain independent does not mean, in my frame of reference, that they are hiding anything. Maybe the title of being 'married' is not that important to them. Maybe they have observed married people's relationships and felt that marriage wasn't all it was cracked up to be. And just because someone is not married doesn't mean, to me, that they don't have relationships. Nope not buying because someone never married they may be hiding they are gay....guess we all look at things differently.

That's when they use the caption "Family and Friends" I didn't even know Adam's parents were divorced until the very end of the season! I didn't either until articles came out after the season was over. Probably very weird for Eber and Amy (?), but ultimately probably a wise move on the producers part, and in the interest of Adam, imo. Tbh, I was more astounded that Eber and Leila went along with the charade, because, can you imagine how that must have looked to friends and family who knew better, to see that portrayed that way on TV?Apparently Amy's mother was furious. From what it sounded at the time, she didn't know Leila by sight and wanted to know who the hell was sitting next to Eber, since it wasn't her daughter! But it still came down to "what was judged best for Adam", and so they kept the drama offscreen (and also apparently away from Adam who probably didn't really know what was going on - they tried to keep the Idols in a bubble back then)

On soundcloud, scorpiobert Rockstar Snippet Edit by me https%3A//soundcloud.com/scorpios4music/adam-lambert-glee-snippet And a completely different sound from Adam than other Glee songs he has done - light breezy effortless. Interested to hear the rest... Not exactly the same type of song, but this reminded me of his performance of Beth at the AI final. Easy going, sweet, pure voice.

So.... Back in Season 8, Idols did not do interviews. Now they have much more freedom in speaking through twitter, etc. I don't think Adam was ever in a situation where he was asked if he was gay, during the show. The one time it came close was at the Top 10 after party, where he was asked if he had seen the photos. And he said, "I am who I am." << or something like that!
