That's when they use the caption "Family and Friends" I didn't even know Adam's parents were divorced until the very end of the season! I didn't either until articles came out after the season was over. Probably very weird for Eber and Amy (?), but ultimately probably a wise move on the producers part, and in the interest of Adam, imo. Tbh, I was more astounded that Eber and Leila went along with the charade, because, can you imagine how that must have looked to friends and family who knew better, to see that portrayed that way on TV?Apparently Amy's mother was furious. From what it sounded at the time, she didn't know Leila by sight and wanted to know who the hell was sitting next to Eber, since it wasn't her daughter! But it still came down to "what was judged best for Adam", and so they kept the drama offscreen (and also apparently away from Adam who probably didn't really know what was going on - they tried to keep the Idols in a bubble back then) Amy and Leila did an interview together when they watched Adam perform in Group 2 (Satisfaction). It described them hugging each other. The author of the article's last name was Houston. I can't seem to find it. I got the impression from the article they all loved and supported Adam.

Sorry for spamming, but just too many topics going on:
@buder, thanks for telling us that you have saved the individual pages of the first twop thread and some of the second. I think, the first thread is the most important one. I just checked: This Atop board started when the second thread was at page 335, so you only need to copy til then. Not sure, how far you are, but anything beyond then, Adamtopia will have everything that might have been important or cute or well put or whatever. So, I hope those are not too many pages anymore.
Would you be willing to make those files public?
2) Did we get an area on the forum, where we could park something? i.e. a link to @buder's pages, if she would be so kind as to make her file public. I read that such pages can be opened with IE, so is there a way, we could organize a test of that?
3) Besides the Adam related Jacob posts and those two Adam Lambert threads, is there anything else people think should be kept? I heard grassy knoll, but that has tons of non-Adam stuff. Then there are the Jacob reviews in general (season 8). Do people think we should copy them? That seems like a doable task. They are about 15 pages or so, for about 30+ shows, that could reside in a few word documents, if needed.
I think, those reviews are only there for another few days, so if these pages are needed, we need to move fast. The forum is still around for another month or so.
Anyone here around to help do some c/p on the Jacob reviews and split up that work load a bit, i.e. 1) audition rounds 2) HW week and semi-finals 3) top13-top6 4) top 5- end of season
or something like this. Then we figure out where these multiple word docs should reside later. Any helpers?

But, she wasn't part of Adam's family, not a step mother. No, and as I said earlier, the divorce happened after Adam left home for LA (and Amy came significantly after that) so Adam wasn't around to be personally affected that much. Neil was the one who got caught up in the divorce since he was still in high school. #gettingofftopicIthink

Omigosh! This was one of the first rabbitholes I fell into... I was interested in the wowowow site, and happened across this article. The responses just kept coming and coming. Unfortunately I think the blog got deleted, but it's great to see that article again! www.wowowow.com/culture/what-is-it-about-adam-lambert/comment-page-1/

I don’t know that I’d actually vote for the black nail polish. And I’m a bit worried that he’s got some ghastly secret piercings." " But there’s something about him that keeps me — and half the women I know — replaying old “American Idol” episodes on DVR and gazing at photographs of his blue-penciled eyes....Bravery, maybe — he hooked me with “Ring of Fire.” The damn-the-torpedoes flamboyance, the oh-my-god-what-did-I-just-do look when he finished. The intense self-discipline obvious behind the recklessness. And the sweetness. And the smile. " Yup.

Want to back Q3 up on the image of middle America. I sorta cringe when that sytereotype is thrown at me actually. What I think we are, with some exclusions, is varied. Myself I have lived in far more conservative parts of California than the more liberal parts of my home in Ohio, a great swing state. Actually, I have lived in conservative neighborhoods 15 minutes from the liberal neighborhoods there as well. Now I live in Minnesota where it is both the most religious place I've ever lived and simultaneously the same people are the most progressive/liberal I've lived amongst. We also have gay marriage and Iowa has it too...since 2009. So it really is more complex than labelling us all eternal red or blue states and assuming that voters from certain parts of the country would, without a doubt, be voting against Adam on Idol.
