Eeek....

aww, that was adorable. And once again I'm struck by the contrast between Adams many-layered & full of colour voice and Chris colfer's sweet but thin and plasticky voice. Especially when they both sing "I was born to be a rock star" because one of them so clearly was not. (I don't hate Chris Colfer. I think he's a sassy little cutie, and a great actor. But his singing voice is just not to my taste.)

Okay, I have to admit. I love it! It is pure bubble-gum pop, but it is so effervescent, and Adam's voice is so light and free and full of youthful enthusiasm. It's purely perfect. Can't wait to see the staging, and hear what is probably a better mix of vocals and instruments.

Never ceases to amaze me how Adam's voice can turn any song into INCREDIBLE! The high notes at the end are EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what I am picturing. Elliott decides to go off to LA to record music. Maybe he already even has a contract! This song is a goodbye song with Kurt. And within this song, is when we see Kurt & Elliott in leather and studs (pics Adam IGed day of filming.) BTW, pretty sure Adam is NOT in Don't Sleep in the Subway . Em Jay posted a few days ago that the spoiler about Adam being in the subway song was wrong; and that it was only (mainly?) Rachel & Artie singing it.

I'm sooooo heartened to hear that Adam still can sing with that tone quality (no rasp)--and so beautifully. What skill! I didn't realize whose song this is and that they did Say Something. (I never know who does what.) Now that would be a great Adam song. This version is live in the studio.

And he's certainly doing well with those things; I have no doubt his career will be fine once glee sunsets.

Hmmm. It's kind of a poignant song (for bubblegum). I can certainly envision a split screen scene where Starchild is wailing "I just want to be a Rockstar!" Into a mike as part of a concert at the same time Kurt is singing his quieter version all alone. Aww. Sniff. Or not; who knows? Anyway, I can't wait for the episode! Adams run on Glee has totally exceeded my wildest expectations!

Often I think that the "other guy"'s mic is not set correctly, needs to be dialed up, has to have more reverb or whatever added, or is not working right. But, since this is a studio recording, I cannot make that excuse. Nothing against Chris. Or any of the other folks Adam sings with. It just is what it is. Chris' voice is pleasant and pretty. (Limited in what he has shown he can do with it, but as someone said, he doesn't aspire to be a singer.) Adam's voice is a rare and precious gift (honed by obsessive training and practice for many years). And, Holst, I also agree that it is soooooooo nice to hear Adam use this simple, pure, gorgeous tone again. Ooooooooo.

I was initially jealous of the seven minutes it took from Adam, but in retrospect, it truly demonstrated how extraordinary Adam's voice really is. Something we fans already knew, but was a revelation to many in attendance there - TPTB in particular.
