I think some of you might be getting Platinum and VIP mixed up. Platinum has to be bought in pairs. The VIP packages, Ultimate, Diamond, etc were all available as singles from TM. I think. When I bought my Platinum tickets for Philly 30-40 minutes after the fan club pre-sale started, I was specifically looking for one of the up close $495 VIP tickets or the slightly cheaper $395 VIP tickets. But at that time, the web site would only let me buy VIP tickets as a set of two and they were will call only. Although, it let me select 1 ticket at first, but when I went to check out, it came back saying that these tickets had a minimum of 2 tickets required. I did not want to get stuck with an extra VIP ticket that I could not easily transfer to another person. So I went with a $350 (plus fees) Platinum ticket, which also had to be bought as a set of 2, but at least it was a downloadable ticket so I could transfer it to someone else. Things may have changed later on, or were different for AmEx customers, or different for the cheaper VIP tickets, but at the time that I bought my tickets, those were the only choices the web site would show me. And Philly tickets were sold through Comcast rather than TicketMaster, so this may account for the difference in how the tickets were sold.

Here is a recent tweet from Nile - @nilerodgers: I had a long day in the studio fixing guitars. The tracks we recorded at ABBA's Polar studios sound great. t.co/TJcdvirAK1 ABBA Polar studios is in Stockholm, Sweden. Hmmm...

Thanks , everyone, for the very insightful discussion on "processed" versus non processed vocals. I do realize that Adam uses reverb and has spoken about having horrible mixes that are "too dry" in some venues. But we know how astonishing his voice is live, as many of us have been lucky to have seen him. As my sister said while we were texting during MTN, "and the amazing thing is, we know he could do that exact vocal right now in our living rooms." I guess that vocal sounded more "organic" to use a word that's been so overused but still doesn't really have a suitable replacement. I like the Rock Star song now that I hear it, but it is very clean. And I think it's just bubble gummy enough not to be twee. (I do love the occasional bubble gum, dating back to some great songs in my childhood in the 60s). We know Adam is capable of singing perfectly, but perhaps I forgot what his voice sounds like when it's so polished and bright with no grit.
And Q3, I am a very bad person as well because I don't care for Darren Criss either--I find his character to be so incredibly dull and, while I'm sure he's a very nice guy--and he loves Adam--there just doesn't seem to be a lot of "there there." I found watching the BTS vid from New York without Adam to be dispiriting. I have absolutely no interest in watching Blaine and Sam take a bite out of the Big Apple and "have the best day of their lives." Adam added edge, which is so necessary for the New York storyline, and now the entirety of next season (ironic since he's a Cali boy--but man, "Glee kid go to New York" is looking awfully sunny--bed bugs or not). I am certain I will be tuning out of this show permanently after this next show. I may have stayed interested with it just focused on Kurt, Santana, and Rachel, but Blaine and Sam I just can't handle.
And Hoppers, I so agree about how everything is so fake and distorted. It drives me nuts! Everything has this sheen of perfection with all the plastic surgery, the flattering lighting and lenses on TV, and the generic music that could be sung by anyone because it's manufactured by an army of producers and musicians are often not on the same continent, much less the same room, and obsession with appearance so that everyone must be sure to post only the best pictures of themselves online. We in the U.S. have totally lost a grip on reality and it worries me--especially for my kids that know nothing of the world before the Internet and social networking.
Eep. Another long late-night post. Time to turn in!
