Fly by post- Hopeful that Barry Weiss could end up in some sort of association with Adam- he did "get" Adam. I always thought that if the shake up at RCA had never happened Adam's entire Trespassing era would have been handled far differently. As in competently, not the clusterfuck he ended up with.
Future bright/shades etc.

But what Adam was talking about is when people say "so sad that he's gay." He's pointing out that it is NOT SAD. The comment he quoted did not include anything about making out or dating. That part came from him asking if that was why they found it sad. He was saying that him being gay is not the impediment to hooking up because even if he were straight it wouldn't happen. Saying you wish is quite different from saying it is sad or a waste. Good point, rihannsu. There is a difference!

I think that Adam is fully aware of what the fans mean when they say it is "so sad that he is gay." He knows they mean he is hot and sexy and they wish they could date him or fantasize about dating him. IMO, he is pointing out that in spite of the intended compliment, it can be perceived as offensive.
I don't think a lot of people say "It is so sad that so-and-so is married." They may say, "If he weren't married, I would jump his bones." or "I wish he were single and available." That is different from saying that it is sad or a waste. He wants people to think about what they are saying, and how it is perceived.
Reminds me of when I was a little girl. I said of someone "He is Catholic, but I like him anyway." (In my world, the Catholics were seen as somewhat of a cult.) Of course I thought I was complimenting the person. I was corrected quickly. Same thing with "Some of my best friends are Jewish." I meant that I was not prejudiced, but it showed that I DID have a negative stereotype.
I do not think that Adam is overly sensitive nor that he is ignorant of the sentiment behind the statements. He just wants people to THINK and see things from a new perspective. Bravo!

One of the things I love about being an Adam Fan or at least an Adam Fan on Adamtopia is all the interesting conversations we have. Oorah

Which is completely not helped at the vision of cherry blossoms which, at this rate, will show up in May :( This is OT, but for all those who are truly sick and tired of the winter weather. It is especially for jazzrocks, whose comments I've followed on the Twitter feed below...

Dayum, Aleks! I think you are already fluent in Adam. That's sort of like Harry Potter being born with the ability to speak Parseltongue.
I agree completely with what you wrote, because as excited as everybody is about Max Martin, I don't want Adam to sing generic pop songs. This gives me hope that maybe he and Max can work together to do something that is just as much lambertized as it is martinized.
