Was not trying to imply that they were not wonderful, that the party was not lovely or anything like that - and wishing everyone well. Thankful, that there are people who are willing and able to engage Adam at private events. Had no intention to come across as critical. Their money, their decision. Just astounded, that such a party is happening here, that was all I meant to say. I lived near there once and have family near there. My husband worked in Harrisburg for a couple of years but he commuted -- so I sort of lived there. It is a very nice place. But it is NOT a place you expect Adam to appear. No knock on central PA/ Honestly, I also live in a place he is not likely to appear either. ** There are many people who have a lot of money and who are willing to hire Adam for private event. He does very few of these events. (He is doing another on this Saturday, it is the "Wildest Moments" rehearsal event.) I do not know Julia, but I have relatives who know her. My understanding is that she has had a lot of struggles that I believe were part of Adam's decision to perform at this specific Sweet 16 party and to reach out to her after the event. And she is a mega fan.

Thanks, yes, I have seen all the videos and caught up. And no need to defend Harrisburg, I am laughing about it myself, both that I am still here and probably for a few more years too, as well as the fact that Adam visited here, as well as that we are even having this discussion. You guys know the old saying about Pennsylvania: (and now I am dragging a southern state into this, lol)
Philadelphia in the East, Pittsburgh in the West and Alabama in the middle.
Lots of truth, and at the same time, also very misleading. The reality is that the US is a very big country, and fly-over country has a lot of interesting places, and interesting people, and is significantly more diverse than the typical stereotypes would indicate. Hence also that always silly discussion, whether Adam will be 'accepted' in 'conservative state X'. All states today are mixed and a crowd can be brought together of any persuasion anywhere you go. It is just such that there are a few states that have firmly engrained political climates that are not likely to change, i.e. Oklahoma is always bible belt and conservative, etc., But even in Oklahoma there are 40 % that think a bit differently. And yes, I know, because the only place I have lived that was even more remote than Harrisburg, was Tulsa, OK. And contrary to Harrisburg, I actually liked it there a lot more than I thought I would, based on my per-conceptions.
Nope, Harrisburg is not nice, I know better. But it has two very good things going for it. First of all, Adam has given this region and amazing amount of attention, including his tour premiere in Wilkes-Barre (a bit more than an hours drive from here). And W-B is a much nicer town than Harrisburg, btw. And now, this summer, I have 4 QAL concerts with less than 4 hours drive. Again, very privileged. The other good thing is that PHL, NYC, Baltimore and Washington are all 4 very much within reach. As my kids get older, I hope that this will be of even more value to us.
And now I am going to stick that post at the end of the previous thread, so only those who have asked me about something will need to read about it, and I'll go back to joining the current discussion.
