Did anyone catch Glee last night? I don't know how Lea will carry a show of her own.. From what I read a while back, Ryan is planning to write a show for her after,Glee is done. She has a great voice ,but nothing more IMHO........ TO add,Funny Girl had such great songs.. This Eve. in my opinion poor choices.. but then again I just want to see ADAM. Still think Ryan should give Adam his own variety show.. I'll let him know my feelings.. Right

TALON'S TAKE & SUPPLEMENTAL:
Let Me Entertain You
Written by: Freddie Mercury
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - lead and backing vocals, piano, outro voices Brian May - guitars, outro voices John Deacon - bass guitar, outro voices Roger Taylor - drums, outro voices studio and road crew - outro voices
- The song is a natural to lead off an album - not sure why it didn't. A great rock and roller that just translated perfectly to a live performance.
- Played live throughout the Montreal concerts in 1981.
- The last verse there is a lot of voices talking over each other. Funny. That Brian May is out of sight man!
OFFICIALLY RELEASED LIVE VERSIONS:
LIVE KILLERS VERSION
- AUDIO only.
ROCK MONTREAL VERSION
- Great version from the band that was really at their live peak during this timeframe.
UNRELEASED LIVE PERFORMANCES:
LIVE IN PARIS - 1979]
- Another great gig from the Live Killers timeframe!
PERSONAL NOTES; - Freddie at his entertaining best...he did anything to entertain the audience...
CHANCES: Let Me Entertain You.....15% -- A song they haven't done in a long long time....although I think Adam could handle it QUITE well I could see this being added to the set, although B&R might think it too much a Freddie song to want to let anyone else attempt it.
SUPPLEMENTAL: Breakthru
Written by: Freddie Mercury/Roger Taylor
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - lead and backing vocals, piano, keyboards Brian May - guitars, backing vocals John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - drums, backing vocals, keyboards, drum programming David Richards - programming, keyboards
- Issued as a single backed with ‘Stealin’’ in June 1989 in the UK (where it hit #7). Issued as a single backed with ’Stealin’’in June 1989 in Australia (where it hit #59), Canada, Germany, The Netherlands (where it hit #4), Italy, and Portugal.
- The co-writing credit comes because It was actually two songs glued together. The opening ballad section is a Freddie song and the rest of the rock driven number was Roger's.
- The woman in the video is Roger's (then) future girlfriend.
QUOTES:
"It's the prime example what we were talking about before, I mean, the track 'Breakthru' sort of stemmed from Roger, really, it's basically his track. But the sort of a capella vocal bit in front was from someone else, as we've said: we have 30 tracks, and that was a little piece that I thought was quite good, and I didn't want it to go amiss, and I just said, 'Oh, well, we’ll just put it in front of "Breakthru".' It’s basically another song, sort of seem to go quite nicely, so, we just snipped it." - Freddie Mercury - 1989
"I very much like the track, this is a Roger track, full of energy, and the track speaking lyrically is about breaking through to the next part of your life. And on another level, it’s just a nice bit of fun." - Brian May – 2003
“The song actually ended up more complicated than I wanted it. I think the others wanted to put a key change in – I really hate key changes usually and that’s not one of my favorite key changes – but I think this song should have been kept simpler and it was just slightly over-arranged in the end, but it kept everyone else happy.” – Roger Taylor
ALTERNATIVE RELEASED VERSIONS:
12" EXTENDED VERSION
- ESSENTIAL - This one actually really works - It loses the Freddie ballad intro, but adds some great power chords from Brian. It makes it a really rocking song.
NOW EDIT
- NOT ESSENTIAL - Basically the album version without the Freddie intro.
ALMOST NOW EDIT
- NOT ESSENTIAL - Retains some of the intro but not all of it.
PERSONAL NOTES: - One of my favs. Both the album version and the 12". Just a fun driving song. Real rocking tune. One of the best on the album. I had been hoping Adam would do this one since it never has seen the light of day live...
CHANCES Breakthru......5% -- One of those songs that I don't REALLY think will be played, but if I was looking for a surprise - this might be it. It's never been played live (along with just about all of The Miracle album (with the exception of I Want It All and bits of Chinese Torture in Brian's solos)). I think THIS could be an amazing concert opener. Open with a light show and the taped Freddie intro and then at the NOW the curtain drops and Brian plays the power chords like the beginning of the 12" extended version. I think it could be very fun!
