Take this with a grain of salt. For one, songs never impact radio on Fridays in the US. Always a Monday for HAC, or Tuesday for CHR. And ATY is not listed on the actual radio business news site. For that matter, no new Avicii single is listed all the way thru mid May. But I am in the "I don't care camp!" I want Adam's new music!

I want Adam's new music too! But I admit to being disappointed if the Addicted to You thing is true. I LOVE Lay Me Down and it is perfect for radio. It also would be a great way for US radio to be "forced" to play Adam. Then follow with his first single from era #3. But with Avicii's new album already on the horizon I doubt that will happen if ATY is next.

I like 'Breakthru' but this time talon's first video is geo-blocked. Here's an official version that plays for us foreigners - at least in Finland www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEjU9KVABao

Adam mention. Michael Slezak @michaelslezaktv 11m ICYMI overnight… @americanidol Exclusive: Top 6 Song Spoilers! tvline.com/2014/04/22/american-idol-top-6-song-spoilers-alex-jena-caleb-jessica-sam-cj/ … My Snap Judgment: The good news is that 7 of the night’s 12 songs have never been tackled during Idol‘s live voting rounds, so let’s tip our imaginary hats, yes? On the other hand, with the exception of Sam’s wacky Shania Twain pick (¡!), I have a sinking feeling I already know exactly how these performances will sound and look. I mean, haven’t these kids read their Idol Handbooks and realized that Adam Lambert’s “Ring of Fire” or Kris Allen’s “Heartless” or Candice Glover’s “Lovesong” or Blake Lewis’ “You Give Love a Bad Name” — picks that, on paper, you’d never, ever anticipate — are they keys to an exciting Idol trajectory?

I don't care how but I wish that Adam's voice would be heard on US radio (a lot). To achieve that, LMD is the best option at the moment IMO. I'm sure that Avicii track gets radio play and it's a great song.
As for Adam's own music the radio situation is more nebulous - and there's no time for an extensive promo tour now. The possible single would be just thrown out there which is not good. I think the launch should be done properly. Media hype for the new music is needed in advance - and there's no sight of that yet. Also I don't think it would be enough to do a couple shows and a handful of interviews just before Queen - and reply to questions about the tour. It's possible that they might try that in case LMD is not released but I wouldn't bet on it. There's time after Queen to do the launching on their terms and do promo the way they want it.
However, I do like 'Addicted To You' very much and from Avicii's standpoint, it would be a shame if it's not released in the US. For Adam, it's a bad thing 'Hey Brother' has been so slow in climbing the charts because it might lead to ATY release now and LMD release sometime Aug/Sep and that could clash with Adam's new music launch plans. I think the clash should be avoided but on the other hand, Adam cannot wait forever - especially when there's life outside the US too. Maybe he'll go with a start elsewhere and work gradually to the US a little bit later, perhaps a difference of two months for example would do the trick - unfortunately it would postpone album release also...
We'll just have to wait and see, first to learn what'll be Avicii's next single in the US.

Nile Rodgers @nilerodgers 7m @saforaglambert I'm starting to feel better and I'll talk to Tim & Adam about "Calico." It's simply too good to not be out!

Sounds like Adele's voice on it, but it's probably some one else ( as usually, no way to know from the official VEVO)... the song is beautiful! So the only hope for us -it is not a "summer song", but I am not holding my breath... also we have this, and it does not sound encouraging to me at all : Lolly_sss Lolly_sss 2h @shoshannastone Is this correct? US/Cdn isn't getting Lay Me Down as the next single? members.tmstudios.com/hitdisc.asp members.tmstudios.com/members/searchresponse.asp?dt=h&mode=disc_srch&dnum=HA201417 … … shoshanna stone @shoshannastone 2h Lolly_sss that's a question for Avicii - the single order was "Hey Brother' into "Addicted To You' elsewhere

I want Adam's new music!"The TMCentury Hit Disc release date is the disc release date, not the song's radio impact date. This is on a disc from a company that delivers programming materials. Their "hit discs" are songs that DJs/Programmers are likely to add but that does not mean that the single is going to be promoted by the label AND they do not serve just the US. >> I would not be surprised if AVICII/Island went to ATL in the US and Canada next. Frankly, I love Adam, but that would be my call if I was at Island. ATL has done well outside of North America. It is a nice follow-up to "Hey Brother". But as far as I can determine, Island has not announced the next single for the US and Canada. No need yet.... >> The songs on that disc are NOT April 25 releases.....they are different formats, and different dates. Daughtry "Battleships" impacts HAC on May 12. (HAC) John Legend "You & I (Nobody In The World)" impacts on April 29 (Urban) Sam Smith "Stay With Me" had a US impact date of April 15. (HAC) No reason to waste much energy thinking about this, we can't have any affect on the decision. None. Finally, even if Island chooses ATL next for North America, it does not mean that LMD will not be released here.
