Metrosource Magazine @metrosourcemag 10m In case you missed it, MetroNOW's Top 10 LGBT Icons (2014 Edition featuring @adamlambert @joan_Rivers @rupaul). fb.me/31vDp0sY1 1. Madonna 2. Judy Garland 3. Cher 4. Liza Minnelli 5. Lady Gaga 6. Joan Rivers 7. RuPaul 8. Kathy Griffin 9. Adam Lambert10. Cyndi Lauper Does it bother anyone else that only two of the top 10 LGBT Icons are actually gay? When these types of lists come out, they are very similar. I think it's odd that only two are LGBT. I wonder if a list of black icons would include only a couple black people?

I wonder if a list of black icons would include only a couple black people? That's a great analogy and makes me look at this list from a different perspective. Part of the "problem" is that there haven't been that many out gay artists that would be in the running for icon. Being out is still not accepted fully in the entertainment world. Especially music.

Being out is still not accepted fully in the entertainment world. Especially music. Good point. Historically, what huge celebrity actors and musicians have been openly gay? Throughout their career? If the celebrity only came out after many years of fame, or after being outed, would he or she be considered a role model, an icon considering they had kept secret their sexual orientation? Would they be someone other LGBT individuals would respect, look up to, admire and want to emulate? I can understand if the answer is "no." Because there have been many artists over the years who were gay, and because it is pretty "normal" within the arts community (and also in the interpreting community in which I worked all my adult life) I tend to think Adam's open orientation is nothing that unusual. But, when looking at it from this different perspective, Adam is still very much an outlier in the mainstream celebrity world in general, and the pop/rock music world in particular. In a way, it is remarkable what he has accomplished, how well-known as a gay celebrity he is, and yet, how adored he is by so many.

I am hoping for a series of Guest Appearances along the tour. Paul Rogers is on my list. Bowie tops the list for me. I'd love to see Brian and Roger surprise Adam and the audience with a guest appearance by Bowie. #PipeDream Really? I want all Adam. Was completely unimpressed and felt having FUN guest at iHeart was unecessary! As a matter of fact, if Rodgers (or anyone) took a song away from Adam the night I was seeing my shows, I'd be pissed! Actually I would LOVE some guest appearances and surprise duets. I actually think Adam gets more energy from these things and improves his own performance. And he is such a masterful duet partner, and he always sounds so good in comparison. And say what you will about Nate ruess's voice when fun appeared wt queen at iHeart, but he really got the crowd into things. I think they added a lot to the set in terms of pure energy and the duet between Adam & Nate was an absolute joy to watch (if not necessarily hear, lol). So yeah, I'd be thrilled wt a guest or 2 at my QAL show.

I do NOT want anyone to sing at the Queen concert other than Adam. Well, okay, I will accept Brian and Roger. If they do have a guest, I guess it would not be all bad for me. It would give me time to take a bathroom break without missing any Adam. Yeah, that would work.

Though it may not seem like it is the case here at Atop....... there are many Adam fans that are only able to attend one Queen+Adam concert.
If you are one of those fans and the tour has started..... and there have been no guest appearances so far ( other than Bri & Rog singing their stuff while Adam takes a much deserved break).... then at your one and only show there is a guest and that guest sings the song that was at or near the top of your list to hear Adam sing ..........
Would anyone still say they were ok with that? If you were lucky enough to see multiple shows, would you wish that upon someone with only one show to look forward to?
I have never felt that I was entitled to anything when it comes to Adam. NOT ONE THING........
But I would be a bloody liar if I was to answer 'Yes' to either of those questions.
Unless of course, for me personally, as stated earlier, if Freddie himself were to descend from heaven............

"Under Pressure" works, but I believe this would never happen!
