lulu, please don't take this wrong because I know we all have our separate tastes which is a good thing, but I found the video odd and a little unsettling. It seemed to almost disrespect the people whose birthday it was, that is unless the celebrant actually agreed in advance and the joke was on the attendees. I generally love KP's videos because I love that she doesn't take herself too seriously, but not this one not so much. I agree, Linda, for the same reasons. Also, this song is one of my least favorite on her album! And I LOVE KATY!! Go figure!

Island has not officially announced the next single for the US and Canada -- but it is very likely to be ATL. "ATY"

Finally America got it right, C.J. went home tonight on American Idol! I was just going to turn it on and watch the show, thought I'd check in here first for Adam news, didn't expect this. Sorry if I spoiled it for you.

Cassie, if you are out there and reading this.. what is the technique when Adam slides into the note? I notice he does that often. Is that intentional, like a run ( but I don't think it's a run, because isn't a run kind of like scat in jazz where you move up and down the scale around the note ) . Sometimes he hits the note bang on , but more often it's a slide. Or maybe he's manipulating the note with changes in his mouth or throat.. don't know? I was listening to Chokehold on the way home from a meeting and noticed it again.. suffocate.. clothes... etc.. but when he sings pain it's right on the note. Here I am. It's a stylistic thing mostly. If a singer hits every note precisely on pitch it can sound mechanical and cold. Sliding or gliding into the notes, when done with subtlety, adds warmth. When done with too much swoop, or too often, or to cover the fact that the singer missed the note they were aiming for, it can sound tacky and even painful. If you are talking about larger slides over a range of notes low to high or high to low, one term for it is "glissando." An example of Adam doing that masterfully is on that glory note in Fever. Sometimes he hits it straight on. Other times, he actually starts the note an octave lower and slides or glides up the entire octave quickly to the high F#. Here starting at 2:15 or so. Not the best sound, but a beautiful example of glissando.

Nile Rodgers @nilerodgers 13h Daybreak April 24, 2014 - This is the 1st day I'll go out this week because I've had a horrible flu. Not bad as... fb.me/391k0VbGp *** No reason to be disappointed about LMD. When it comes to Avicii -- Australia leads the world and the US and Canada have been been at the end of the release cycle since the start. (And we did not get single #2 because WMU was around "forever". ATY is not WMU and will not block out the US and Canada for 6 months.

I generally love KP's videos because I love that she doesn't take herself too seriously, but not this one not so much. Linda, I felt the same way. And I thought her own costuming and role play was brilliant, it is just that she took the jokes way too far imo. Made me uncomfortable. In fact, I could not even watch it through the first time. Did anyone ask those kids with those mice whether they have nightmares now? Sorry, don't understand how and why these folks consented to that, especially the parents. Sorry, I normally love Katy's videos, this makes me sad on many levels, for the kids and their parents, for others who may feel used and maybe regret giving their consent, to ultimately for Katy herself. ====================== Now on a much better note, those boys and their syncronized swimming video was hilarious. I laughed out loud. I bet, this will be imitated a lot in school talent shows. Very original for those who came up with the idea first.

But Hey Brother Took 6 months also because it was so slow moving up. If LMD isn't the next single in the US, then I say it never will be. (But I actually don't care. Want new Adam music!)

I saw Steven Tyler and Joe Perry on The Talk promoting their tour beginning in July. I hope Queen and Adam will do some promoting on TV, too. Do you think this is something they will do?
