And for those, who are considering Atlantic City, a few touristic aspects. AC itself is a casino town. Beach, then boardwalk, then casino/ mega-hotels/etc., then park houses, and there the concrete jungle begins. So tourists will mostly stay within a block or two from boardwalk. Btw, the Monopoly streets are named after Atlantic City streets, and Boardwalk has its price. But both to the north as well as the south of AC, the beautiful beaches continue, Ocean City is true to its name, an ocean resort kind of town (away from the highrises of AC) and to the north of AC is Brigantine Island, which is a delightful get away from it all island (access via bridge). There is no fast food and no major chains, just mom and pop restaurants, and everything is totally laid back. The beaches are white and even in July not crowded. Great place for kids, still affordable, the hotels are of the older variety, but those on the east side of the island are often right on the beach. West side is canal mostly for folks who need boat slips - so no beach. So, for those who think about making this a late July vacation, I was there last year, right around that time, when the concert will be this year, and while it was very hot, as to be expected at that time, otherwise, it was delightful to have both a get-away vacation, but also be able to enjoy a show or event in AC with just a 20 minute drive. Having said that, I do think that AC is going to sell out, when people who are locally in town for that week, look for things to do while they are there. There are going to be a lot of non-typical folks there (neither Glambert - nor Queen fans) in that audience, I suspect. I really hope, it will be full, the venue looks great. Great info. This venue will sell out -- no doubt. It will not sell out until late because Atlantic City not a "plan-ahead" fly to destination. The area lives off of people from NYC and Philly metro areas going to the "shore" for summer vacations and weekends. The "city" is really small -- population 39,558. The metro area is also small -- 274,549. Plus, AC is an economically depressed area -- median household income is only $30,237 (Mississippi, the lowest state in the US, has a median household income of $36,919.) The demographics do not look like Queen or Adam Lambert fans. There was an attempt to make AC the Las Vegas of the east -- but it failed. So there are 16 casinos (mostly Bally's and HeWhoCannot amed) and they struggle. BUT this venue is special. I have been to two concerts there -- and have talked to many other people about it, both concert goers and performers. One guy said it is like going to a baseball game in Wriggle Field. I am not trying to be the "devil". And they will fill this venue. But when I realized that this happened so quickly that I never really focused on the addition of this venue....I decided to post about it. Sometimes the location does matter and this is one of those places. Historic, but updated. Somehow intimate but hold a large crowd. And the barrel ceiling makes for a different sound. I just have a feeling that Brian and Adam may play around a bit with the way sound bounces in this venue. *** BUT THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES ABOUT THIS!! *** On an unrelated not, Lady Gaga's ArtPop tour is coming to Cleveland (by nearest big city) and I just got a discount offer on ANY available ticket -- even VIPs!  And there are good tickets! Two seats second row side lowest level! Too bad I am not interested in seeing this tour. Well maybe not, because I already spent all my $$$$$ on QAL! |

One of the biggest surprises was Adam Lambert who came for a personal meet and greet and played a full concert for Julia's party. It truly was and AMAZING day! Also, a huge thank you for Artemas Mott and Mike Allebach for helping me cover this event! (Only Adam)      |
